NATO & YOUTH

An educative program for Ulcinj high school students "NATO & YOUTH DIVERSITY DIALOGUE"
In order to approach the current social processes to the youth population, the "New Horizon“ CSO continues the practice of organizing educational programs on the Euro-Atlantic integration. The program is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro. NATO & YOUTH DIVERSITY DIALOGUE is an alternative education program at the local level that provides a unique opportunity of informing on topics such as: NATO as a political and military organization, the basic determinants of world security, Collective defense concept, Transatlantic link, Montenegro and Euro-Atlantic Integration, NATO's humanitarian operations and environmental protection.
The program was organized in Ulcinj, from September until December 2012. During the program there were organized various events, as well as other individual and collective activities, followed by professional speakers and moderators. Workshops were held every Saturday and were lasting for two hours. In order to promote intercultural dialogue among young people, during the project was organized the welcoming for group of high school students from the north of Montenegro, who visited our city. The high school students from Ulcinj also visited their town. The project will be finalized with a joint visit to Podgorica. At the end of the program, participants will receive certificates for successful participation in this program.

At each workshop with students, we took care of that through learning we satisfy their needs. This included their active participation (interactive workshops – games, discussions, group work, creating posters); social moment – talking (team work, work in groups or in pairs, a presentation of their works), and the knowledge that is meaningful and useful for their perspective (team-building, debating techniques, communication skills).
