Description:This is a picture of an eye and I edited the world into
the pupil.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):This was a difficult process for me but I’m glad I was able to do it. The main tool I used was masking and
then changing the opacity. It was simple but required time and patience.
Programs:Photoshop
Objective:The message is one of inspiration. I wanted something
that didn’t just catch your eye but that was thought-provoking as well.

Business Cards
Description:This is a logo I created for a guitar teacher.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):Pen tool was the KEY to this project. I found an image
that I liked online and so I traced the shape. to make it pop, I changed the colour of the guitar to red. This
provided some contrast to make the image more interesting.
Programs:InDesign and Illustrator
Objective:The message is simple - a cool teacher who teaches
guitar. It’s not specific about the types of lessons there will be but the image gives an impression on the kind of
music that will be focussed on - rock music!

the placement picture and then I based the font and positions based on the picture.
Programs:InDesign

Logo
Description:These are some logos that I came up with for “Freedom
Dance Studio”, which specializes in various types of dance, mainly Hip Hop style.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):I used the Pen Tool specifically. I found images online
that I could trace. It took FOREVER and required a lot of patience but I’m happy with the results. I chose simple
color schemes to not overload anyone viewing it.
Programs:Illustrator
Objective:The desired message was that this was a young, hip place
to dance Hip Hop. The culture would be young and fresh, at the same time - the title of the studio meant that we
would incorporate different styles and there would be a certain level of ‘freedom’ in regards to what styles would
be danced there.

Imaging
Description: Using a picture that had been taken of a common, school setting. Then incorporating text to give more meaning to
the picture without taking over.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills: Initially, I had to decide which of the pictures I took would have a suitable message to go with it. Once I
decided that, I just explored to see what design would be good. I went with red, because it stood out and I liked
that. I changed the opacity so that the picture could still be visible behind the text. I kept it simple because there is
a lot happening in the picture itself.
Programs:Photoshop
Objective: I wanted to make something that could be hung on a
wall for inspiration. It acts as a reminder for me to attend devotional and the inspiration that can found if I’m
paying attention.

Web Page
Description:This is a website that I had designed. I incorporated
my logo into the actual design and kept it within the theme without making it to prominent. The logo also
determined the color scheme for the website.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):The process started with trying to find a good way to
incorporate the logo into the design. The nature of the logo isn’t something that I thought would look good on HTML so I found a variety of ways then chose the best
one.
Programs:Photoshop to work on the background. I also used
Dreamweaver and Text Wrangler.
Objective:I wanted something young and fresh looking. The
message is that the client is a guitar teacher and students will learn electric guitar.

Event Ad
Description:A fundraising flier.
Process:I scanned the image of the skull and then thought of ways to put that into a benefit. Once I went with the
Shakespearean theme, then the colors just fell into the place. I searched appropriate font, not just the title. But also, the body text had to be in a font that was readable.
Programs:Microsoft Word.
Objective:I modern twist on Shakespeare’s classic Hamlet that
would invoke interest to give to charity.
