Driven by a passion to solve the climate crisis, we are a team of experienced campaigners, analysts and communications professionals who work behind the scenes to provide support to social movements to shift our economy beyond fossil fuels. We provide analysis, strategy support and funding to a wide range of community organisations with the aim of protecting the environment and keeping carbon in the ground. Role Description The Sunrise Project is hiring a Project & Executive Assistant for an exciting full-time role based in Sydney. We’re looking for a seriously well-organised person who brings order to chaos, loves making people’s lives easy and has an eagle eye for detail. The role will be a mix of supporting our Executive and Deputy Directors and working alongside our Finance & Operations Manager to make sure we run a tight ship. You’ll coordinate projects, drive improvements to our systems and take pride in some serious administration. If you’re looking for a predictable and low-stress admin job, this won’t be the one for you. Ours is a fast-paced work environment that will challenge you to think on your feet, solve problems and juggle competing demands. The ideal candidate for this role is a no fuss, intimidatingly organised career EA who will be excited by the purpose-driven ambition of our organisation. Formal education or qualifications matter less to us than proven excellence, initiative and passion. Discretion, confidentiality and maturity are all important qualities in this role, as well as an ability to cope with pressure and put in the hard yards when required. To thrive in the role, you’ll be happy doing basic admin work and odd jobs while also getting your teeth stuck into complex projects. As well as getting satisfaction from your own work and projects, your primary role will be to support the Executive Director and Deputy Director to be as effective and productive as possible.

Key responsibilities

1. Executive Assistant to the Executive and Deputy Directors to manage projects, diaries, expenses and correspondence;

2. Administration of The Sunrise Project grants program, including drafting grant agreements, acquittals and systems management;

3. Support the Finance & Operations Manager in financial, office and facilities management;

4. Maintain a vibrant, efficient and comfortable office for the team to thrive; 5. Logistics support to senior staff and board members, arranging meetings and

events including venues, travel, catering and registrations; 6. Organising, coordinating, and managing the logistics of other major events; 7. Solving various random and interesting (and, occasionally, not so interesting)

problems; 8. Any other duties as lawfully directed.

We’re looking for someone who has

1. A high level of initiative and drive, second guessing the needs of the Directors; 2. The skills to bring order to chaos, a systems thinker, always looking for ways to

improve our processes; 3. Excellent communication skills including the ability to write well, whether taking

minutes in meetings or writing executive reports; 4. A formidable command of numbers and the tenacity to turn piles of crumpled

receipts into the Directors’ expense claims; 5. An extreme attention to detail; 6. Strong administration skills, no stone unfiled; 7. A proven track record in project management, logistics and event planning; 8. The ability to juggle multiple, complex projects and meet deadlines every time -

you’re the one chasing the Directors to make sure they’re on track, not the other way around;

9. Digital competence, experienced to intermediate level with documents, spreadsheets, Gantt charts, and the whole MS Office suite as well as experience with online collaboration systems and basic IT administration;

10. Passion about our mission – you want to make a difference on some of the most important environmental issues of our time.
