Don Bosco Ngangi is a Salesian run center in Goma located in the northeastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo
Goma is located in North Kivu province, the heart of the warfare that has claimed 6 million lives in the Congo since 1996
The presence of UN peace keeping forces and it’s location on the border, have made Goma the recipient of the massive human wave of refugees fleeing the conflict and atrocities
Like other Don Bosco Centers around the world, Don Bosco Ngangi was founded to minister to children and youths.
Since 1988 the center has provided schooling, food, lodging and spiritual care to orphans and abandoned children. The Center now cares for over 3, 500 children
They have added a feeding center
They provide medical care and support to surrounding refugee camps
The addition of a medical center now provides desperately needed medical care to the children of the center and the local refugee population.
The medical center consist of a clinic, hospital, cholera ward and nutritional center for severe cases of malnutrition.
