The Aerolon Hydro-Aero Electric hybrid turbine propeller is an advanced energy conversion device that provides for low cost high power coefficient of energy translation derived from low or high velocity moving water streams or alternatively high power coefficient of energy translation derived from low altitude and low speed or high speed, high altitude horizontal air streams by a novel designed one piece sheet construct having profiled and moulded integrally formed aerofoils, venturis and a multi bladed propeller fabricated within the light weight rigid thin sheet aero dynamic mono structure comprising the Aerolon hybrid turbine thereto be adapted to electric generators.

Greater energy capture and power output per square meter of swept area for given wind or fluid speeds is obtained by virtue of the Aerolon turbine having operating principles defining the physics of the hybrid turbine being a venturi based and / lift based wind or water machine, whereby greater output for a given area of fluidic flow interception is realised by the peculiar aerodynamic form, economically moulded from fibre reinforced plastic injection processes or alternatively press formed utilising a high tensile thin sheet metallic substrate or press formed metallic mesh having a canvas or sail material adhered and stretched across the mesh profile to provide for the ultimate of light weight turbine construction .

Typical turbines utilised currently are limited in efficiency by what is called the Betz law.  Whereby such theoretical law of Newtonian physics claims whereto harvest 100% of the energy available in a moving fluidic substrate eg wind and water, the moving fluidic substance would stop flowing through such a turbine.  The opposite of such is that if no energy is captured, the moving fluidic substance is able to flow around or through any major obstruction and thereby minimal transference of energy is imparted to the intercepting conversion device.  The theoretical Betz limit cites for typical lift based principle wind turbines of typical commercial designs comprising of either one or multiple blades operate at a mean limit of energy translation efficiency being at best 44 percent because conventional wind turbines create a diverting wind flow through the turbine.

The Aerolon Hybrid Turbine is designed to converge up to 90 percent of the air flow whilst simultaneously maintain the air or water flow by forcing it to deflect with minimal losses at multi angular vectors against and around the integrally formed venturis and aerofoils, as well as through the Aerolon turbine via the integrally formed propellers thereby maximising the translation of the intercepted perpendicular fluidic forces by greater interception surface area having also appropriate geometric vectors to make displacement of the converged wind or water forces with minimal turbulence and drag.

The Aerolon Turbine Electric generator assembly can directionally self orientate for maximum interception of wind force whereto equally translate perpendicular and angular upstream or downstream air flows, by means of horizontal axis rotatable platform and vertical axis gimbals thereby to effect a speedier response time in accommodating different wind change directions.

Electrical energy may also be harvested by the optional adaptation of Photo Voltaic cells or a Photo Voltaic laminar amorphous silicon film adhered to the major planar facets comprising the peculiar geometry of the Aerolon Hybrid Turbine whereby DC energy derived from the photo voltaic cells can also be commutated into the electricity grid or auxiliary battery banks.

Furthermore incident solar energy can be reflected and concentrated upon the photo voltaic membrane affixed to the rotating or locked turbine by a unique light weight low cost Photon Concentrator Lens whereby to focus or collimate higher intensities of solar radiations upon the surfaces of the adhered photo voltaic membrane or photo voltaic cells mounted directly to the Aerolon Hybrid Turbine and substantially increase the DC voltage output of the cells at all ambient solar light intensities.

The Aerolon Turbine assembly is a state of art electrical energy generating apparatus which uses dual combination of photo voltaic energy generation and wind energy generation amalgamated into the one machine.

Such combination economically increases the energy density for a given volume and mass comprising the energy conversion machine or alternatively reduce the volume and mass thereof for a given energy density.

The Aerolon Hybrid Turbine can also function independently as either a wind or solar system pending power requirements and or wind / light conditions.

The inherent advantages of the Aerolon Hybrid Turbine is greater power output obtained within a given rotational swept area radius as opposed to the same diameter conventional propeller type turbines. The converged air or water captured by the Aerolon hybrid turbine is deflected to exhaust through several venturis which provide for a high velocity radial moment of force namely a jettison stream imparted from the periphery or rim of the Aerolon Hybrid Turbine. The Betz limit for the Aerolon design is at minimum 74.6 percent of energy translation efficiency due to the principle mode of operation being a venturi effect machine

For use in open water and ocean current forces whereto provide for hydro electric generation, it is preferred that the anchored submerged Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator assembly facilitate a 320 degrees spherical manoeuvre utilising a universal ball joint rotatable turntable whereby to instantaneously track and capture rapid changing current directions and thereto maintain a constant power conversion by readily adapting to all tidal and current directions

The Submersible Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator can be readily adapted to be housed insitu of large diameter water pipelines whereby to capture gravitational potential energy transferred from a reservoir to townships via water flowing through the typical large diameter pipedic ducts whereby such turbines placed within and in series relationship over a large distance of pipeline would provide for substantial supplementary electrical energy to be transferred into the domestic grid or power takeoff directly supplied to dwellings via a special purpose grid.

For marine craft usage the Submersible Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator are readily housed within light weight streamlined semi buoyant pods that may be dropped overboard during anchor or trail behind the craft by suitable cabling during transit and further obtain supplementary power generation for auxiliaries aboard by harnessing water currents .

The Submersible Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator Pods may also be used for regenerative braking of large Ocean liners or Military battle crafts for rapid deceleration and simultaneous electric power generation. On such sized ships the large pods could be cable connected to the stern and lowered by crane placement overboard when employed at times of deceleration or integrally mounted to the ships super structure and hydraulically lowered into the water or alternatively the pods can be integrally mounted to the ship’s super structure below the water line and a streamlined conical shutter is remote actuated open to allow water passage through the generator pod and engage against the Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Generator during braking or transit.

The grandest method for harvesting energy from the earths natural forces is proposed by implementing Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator assemblies on an offshore ocean based structure of which is an anchored pontoon having extended into the ocean under the floating platform, vertical cylindrical shaped keels which are integral of the pontoon structure of which the keels have many Submersible Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator Pod assemblies articulately mounted to capture tidal movements or oceanic currents for energy conversion. The aforesaid platform has also vertical masts extending vertically into the air whereby to simultaneously derive energy from solar radiation and wind forces converted by the Aerolon Hybrid Turbine. Alternatively Submersible Aerolon modules may be anchored permanently to the ocean floor and electrical energy cabled to the floating platform or direct to shore.

Electrical energy supplied from the generator is rectified by a voltage controller before being stored in battery banks of 12V ,24V or 120 V DC and the current from the batteries can be utilised for a variety of applications including equipment operating at 110 V and 240 V, 50/60 Hz by using proprietary inverters .

An advanced design of Aerolon Turbine is being researched relating to press formed fluted perforated metal sheet whereby to analyse the effect of thousands of orientated conical profiled micro and or macro venturis extending over the entire geometry of the Aerolon turbine profile whereto to obtain greater velocities of turbine rotation exceeding the velocity of the primary fluidic force.

The Aerolon Energy Generation Platforms can make electric marine propulsion far more practical and economic whereby to provide for strategic located Electro-Charge or Battery Exchange service stations positioned along coast lines and international shipping routes for transferring electricity to battery powered electric motorised yachts , boats and small ships.

It is proposed that boats can now be purpose designed to operate as battery electric motor operated and that greater range of distance , can be effected by regular Recharge stations en route and thereto such Oceanic Aerolon Energy Generation stations may have a battery bank exchange infra structure , whereby Aerolon Energy Generation shall possess proprietary standardised DC power modules of varying capacity pre charged and such service that can directly exchange the depleted Aerolon DC power packs with pre-charged and re-conditioned DC power packs for a nominal fee being the indexed cost of power.

Such Aerolon DC power packs may consist of several batteries to several hundred batteries housed in purpose built containers and directly hoisted by crane for speedy removal and replacement from aboard the boat or ship whereby to reduce delays of shipping schedules by eliminating charge transference time that occurs with conductive DC re-charge operations.

The Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator Pods can be applied to military terrestrial transport, by mounting the pod to a stream lined trailer and towing the Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator behind a given vehicle to capture the wind energy and charge a given battery bank of electro chemical cells during the times of deployment and transit of military personnel to remote locations. Thereto also the Mobile Terrestrial Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Electric Generator Pods can be mounted to a hydraulic retractable arm affixed to the trailer assembly which can raise the Aerolon generator pod assembly to appropriate height for remote military base power supply derived from solar and wind energy.

A preferred initiative for establishment of a primary market and creation of demand for the Aerolon Hybrid Turbine, is by releasing a range of sizes of domestic wind energy electric generator products suited for the domestic market domain for urban and rural home use.

The proposed Aerolon Turbine Wind generator product lines shall provide for low cost small scale and large scale DC or AC supplementary domestic power systems whereto enable the consumer to reduce the consumption of energy derived typically from the grid or diminish the requirement of grid connection to the utilities power supply.

A sizeable market can be realised by making available to the general public an attractive method of independent energy generation by supply of either small diameter roof mounted 12 / 24 volt DC Aerolon Turbine Wind generators whereby to trickle charge suited battery banks and thereto energise low voltage DC lighting systems and low voltage DC appliances .

Such Micro Aerolon Hybrid wind turbines may be suitably mounted in multiples upon a given roof whereby to obtain greater electrical power generation from wind .

Equally a substantial market may be captured by giving choice to the consumer a range of larger diameter sized transparent or opaque Macro Aerolon Turbine Wind generators mounted upon a a free standing monopole whereby to enable the consumer complete autonomy and self sufficient DC or DC/AC inverted power generation to cater for the energisation of a household or households by enabling larger diameter Aerolon wind turbine generators with optional integrated Photo Voltaic membrane affixed to the rotating turbine body to be implemented within the confines of a suitable backyard..

The proposed range of Macro Aerolon Hybrid Wind Turbine generators to be utilised for independent domestic power supply can range from varied diameters, 1.5 meter to 3.0 meter. The larger Aerolon turbine assembly is typically mounted upon a 5 meter high, free standing singular metal pole or metal lattice frame of which both types of tower assembly are affixed to studs cast within a reinforced concrete pad or footings. The Aerolon turbine generator assembly and tower are quickly installed by crane.

A telescopic tower manually erected by jacking or winch, can be utilised to accommodate for remote sites that cannot provide access for a mobile crane .

The aforesaid transparent turbine construct will not have fitted photo voltaic cells or membrane adapted to the turbine body, for the turbine would be opaque and noticeable and thereto defeat the advantage of having a transparent turbine body of which may be required to satisfy local council regulations or negate neighbourly disputes . The only objects reasonably discerned of the transparent Aerolon turbine assembly is the small diameter electric generator assembly and metallic roof mount frame or monopole which in all cases can be painted to provide for low impact definition and blended aesthetics.

Further application for the Micro Aerolon Hybrid wind turbines are placement at ground level or mounted to stobie poles along the sides of roads and median strips of major motorways and thoroughfares whereby to capture wind generated by passing vehicles. Aerolon turbine arrays spanned incrementally every 100 metres over the length of high density traffic roadways can generate many thousands of kilowatts per day and by decreasing the incremental distances between the Micro Aerolon Hybrid turbines to 50 meters apart on major roadways, greater energies can be obtained to substantially reduce the energy demands upon local power stations.

Micro Aerolon Hybrid Turbines can be employed as a low profile, aesthetic roof cavity hot airrelease vent and thereby provide for exhaustion of heated air entrapped within pitchedrooves of domestic dwellings . A positive updraught is self generated by low RPM rotation of the Micro Aerolon Turbine vent .

The energy derived from the PV membrane may be configured to energise a motorised Micro Aerolon Turbine vent for applications of forced ventilation .

Further adaptation of the Micro Aerolon Hybrid Turbine Vent is by placement within the bore of large diameter Industrial emission stacks or flues. The convective forces and pressures emitted by the industrial process exhaust flue can be translated into electrical energy by the rotation of the Micro Aerolon Hybrid Turbine generator intercepting the ventedgases prior to exhuasting to the atmosphere . The power generated can be used to energiseemission scrubbers , charge batteries or feed back to grid pending exhaust velocity.
