a. ICT
• 100 schools in fifteen countries have had computers andprinters and internet connectivity installed.
NEPAD e-Schools Project
• Nine countries have already officially launched the NEPAD e-Schools Project in demonstration phase
NEPAD e-Africa Programme
• Launch of the African Biosafety Network of Expertise (ABNE) as Regional Nodal Centre in Burkina Faso (April 2010), to provide:
– Technical assistance to government ministries
– Policy Analysis
– Training of Regulators

- 14 countries have been peer reviewed to date
- 30 countries have acceded to the APRM
- Renewed role for NEPAD in implementation of the National Programs of Action (NPoAs)

•Completion of Framework for Teacher Development through open and distance learning project
•Three RECs (SADC, EAC and ECAS) are involved in Nursing and Midwifery Education Project
•Framework for Youth Entrepreneurship Project for SADC and EAC has been completed

•NEPAD Capacity Development Strategic Framework (CDSF) adopted by 14th AU Summit- Setup of NEPAD Capacity Development Continental Steering Group
•Capacity Enhancement of Key African Institutions

– CD Support Program for RECs • Formation of Africa Platform on Aid Effectiveness, South/South Cooperation & Capacity Dev
– An integrated Community of Practice for formal launch by end of 2010
• Additional resources mobilized under the Fund • Focus on microcredit schemes set up in 7 countries
• Research studies on challenges facing women entrepreneurs carried out
• Women in Rwanda mobilized to undertake reforestation projects

• Accelerating implementation and coordination of regional programs/ projects
• Scale-up in mobilizing partners & resources for NEPAD implementation
• Capacity enhancement of key African Institutions, especially RECs
• Having African CSOs and Private Sector entities as critical partners in NEPAD
• NPCA as the major networker and mobilizer for social formation & action
• NPCA as the future Knowledge hub and prominent think tank in Africa
