Our MissionProvide a supportive learning environment where students are placed first, are able to achieve academic success, personal growth, and follow a meaningful pathway to either Further Education or Community Outcome.

Christchurch City Christchurch is New Zealand’s second largest city and the gateway to the South Island. Bordered by hills and the Pacific Ocean, it is situated on the edge of the Canterbury Plains that stretch to the Southern Alps. Locat-ed on the east coast of the South Island, Christchurch is a city of contrasts. There is nowhere else in the world where within two hours of an international airport you can ski at a world class alpine resort, play golf, bungy jump, go rafting, mountain biking, hot-air ballooning, wind surfing, whale watching and visit world class wineries and gardens.

Auckland CityAuckland is a city in New Zealand’s North Island. It is the largest city in the country, with a population of around 1.5 Million. And Auckland is the economic center of New Zealand, an international city that connects the world, and a rapidly emerging innovation center in the Asia Pacific region. It is where all kinds of large-scale events are held and home of quantities of top technology companies. Auckland’s fabulous lifestyle has attracted a large number of international investors and entrepreneurs to develop here.Auckland has been ranked as one of the Top 10 Livable Cities in the World for successive years.

New ZealandNew Zealand is a small country, about the size of Great Britain or Japan. It is a country of beautiful landscapes, mountain chains, volcanoes, beaches, lakes, fiords and forests. The first human settlers in New Zealand were the Maori people who arrived about 800 years ago. Settlers from Europe started arriving in New Zealand from about 1800 onwards. The European settlers gave special recognition to Maori as the indigenous people of New Zealand and this understanding was enshrined in the Treaty of Waitangi signed by Maori and European representatives in 1840. The Treaty of Waitangi respects and protects Maori customs and culture. New Zealand English Academy acknowledges and honours the Treaty of Waitangi and respects the cultural needs and protocols of the Maori people.

Pathway

Catholic Cathedral College (Cathcollege)Catholic Cathedral College was formed in 1987 with the amalgamation of Xavier College and Sacred Heart College . These two schools trace their origins back to 1868 when the first Catholic girl’s school in the city was opened by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, followed 20 years later by the Marist Brothers with a school for boys. For more than 140 years Catholic education has been delivered on this site , against the backdrop of the beautiful Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

The applicant will be notified of the result of the application within 10 working days of receipt of the application. Where a refund is approved, payment will be made to the student’s account or third party account agreed to by the student. All fees are received and refunded in NZ dollars. New Zealand English Academy is not responsible for any currency fluctuation between enrolment and issuing of refunds. Notification will be sent to Immigra-tion New Zealand that the student has withdrawn. (Further details are avaiblable in Student Handbook or NZEA ocial website.)The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) requires that a Private Training Establishment (PTE) such as NZEA has an arrangement in place to protect student fees in the event of a programme closure. NZEA’s Trust Account protects students’ fees should a programme close. Programme closure events are outside of a student’s control, such as a cancellation of a programme, the withdrawal of either accreditation or programme approval by NZQA.

Code of Practice To ensure that international students are well informed, safe and properly cared for, the New Zealand Government has developed a Code of Practice for Pastoral Care for International Students (The Code). NZEA is a signatory to The Code, which provides a framework for a high standard of service. Copies of The Code are available on request or can be downloaded from the NZQA webpage: http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/studying-in-new-zealand/coming-to-study-in-new-zealand/international-student-care/. Please refer to your Student Handbook, available via our website, for further information on the Code of Practice.

Further information can be viewed on the ACC website at www.acc.co.nz.

We can organise the international student insurance for you, please select this option when completing the Student Application Form and we will add the cost of the insurance to your invoice.

Conditions of Refund NZEA’s refund policy and the availability of complaints and appeals processes does not remove the right of the student to take action under New Zealand’s consumer aairs laws. In the situation of a programme closure or cancellation, the student will receive a full refund. Refunds will be paid in New Zealand dollars directly into a nominated overseas bank account or sent by cheque to your overseas address. The refund will be paid within the four weeks after receiving your written claim or within two weeks of NZEA being unable to meet contract obligations with you. NZEA adheres to Section 236A of the Education Act 1989 and subsequent amendments. It has an approved Trust Account for Student Fee protection and Student Fee Indemnification (the remaining portion of a student’s fee at any point of the programme). The Trust Account is sucient to cover the full amount of student fees and is administered by The Public Trust.
