UITPMayorsDay
In order to strengthen the dialogue with local decision makers, a special one day programme is organized for a selected group of Mayors.
This programme includes a Mayors roundtable to discuss the enabling role of public transport in the urban agenda. This will feed into the development of the European and the global Urban Agenda – the latter to be agreed next year at the Habitat III Conference. The discussion will be concluded by the release of a Declaration of Mayors on mobility in the urban agenda.
Mayors will also take part in the plenary session that will review the progress of the UITP strategy for public transport by 2025.

UITP Awards 2015
UITP will be rewarding our public transport actors and stakeholders’ most ambitious and innovative projects. On the occasion of the UITP World Congress & Exhibition in Milan, we’ll be honouring public transport actors and stakeholders whose mobility projects are not only the most inspiring, but that get us closer to our goal of doubling the market share of public transport by 2025 (PTx2).
Our aim is to give due acknowledgement to local mobility projects introduced in the past two years that demonstrate ambitious vision for city mobility systems, operational and technical excellence and extraordinary design, among others, and that can be transferred to other cities and regions.
We’ve got an overwhelming response again this year with over 200 submissions. Winners will be unveiled at the Networking Dinner on Wednesday 10th June.
The UITP/Y4PT Health and Public Transport Award will be also handed over on this occasion.
