The opening event for the year 2014-15, celebrating the 850 th anniversary of Ibn Arabi’s birth (28 July 1165) is this international symposium entitled IBN ARABI AND THE SECRETS OF JOURNEYING, led by Stephen Hirtenstein and Pablo Beneito. It will take place mainly on Friday 3 rd (late afternoon/early evening) and Saturday 4 th (morning and early evening) October 2014 in the Cultural Centre ‘Puertas de Castilla’ and the City Museum (Museo de la Ciudad) in the city of Murcia in southern Spain, where Ibn Arabi was born. On Friday morning there will be various cultural visits relating to the project Ibn Arabi’s Murcia, which will take place within the framework of the symposium. The symposium will take place exclusively in the English language, since it is particularly aimed at the travellers from all over the world who are participating in the journey In the Footsteps of the Master 2014 organized by Stephen Hirtenstein, director of ANQA Publishing. The symposium itself is open to all those who are interested (even if they are not enrolled on this trip) and anyone may attend all the sessions without charge, depending on the capacity of the venue. El viernes por la mañana se realizarán varias visitas culturales relacionadas con el proyecto La Murcia de Ibn Arabi que se presentará en el marco del simposio. A continuación puede consultarse el programa íntegro tanto en español como en inglés, aunque en este simposio se empleará exclusivamente la lengua inglesa, dado que está particularmente dirigido a los viajeros de todo el mundo que participan en el viaje In the Footsteps of the Master 2014. El seminario está abierto a todos los interesados (aunque no estén inscritos en ese viaje) que podrán asistir libremente a las sucesivas sesiones, con previa inscripción en la recepción del simposio, hasta completar aforo.
