IndignaCtion!
Together, thinking about our societies great challenges
September 10-12, 2012
WHY Voices have been raised to alert the conscience around the world. Revolutionary movements and waves of indignation have captured the public opinion. We witnessed protests that led to the fall of oppressive regimes in Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya. In Spain, Greece, the United States… this discontent initiated a citizen re-appropriation of public space. If the issues raised by these regional movements retain their diversity, they embody the dignity of the indignation and rejection of injustice, the will of a dialogue that takes into consideration the voices of citizens.
From this turmoil, the idea was born to draw elements from the sources of protest in order to create a constructive exchange bringing together the Arab Spring activists and the European Occupy movement. During three days, you, actors from both sides of the Mediterranean Sea involved in these changes, will meet, exchange, discuss, and reflect. You will compare your experiences, aspirations and thoughts. You will also have the opportunity to debate directly not only with intellectuals, but also with economic, institutional, social and political leaders.
HOW
The IndignaCtion Forum will be organized in a creative and highly participatory format using Open Space Technology. Hailed for its utter simplicity - and its power, OST is a method bringing all stakeholders together to discuss and to seek a shared solution. They are open, participatory events, the content of which is provided by participants. The following programme, which has to be seen as a main guideline, includes plenaries and small-group breakout sessions. During these three days, do not hesitate to often relay on "bulletin boards" of issues and opportunities posted by participants. And do not forget that the best outcomes are yours to create!
