Kimie works as a veterinary nurse at Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA HK), her main responsibilities are to assist veterinarians in preparing for physical examinations, eg blood sampling, laboratory analysis, results reporting, and assist in anaesthesia cases. “To be a veterinary nurse, professional training and qualification are necessary. Besides assisting veterinarians in providing different treatments to animals, veterinary nurses also provide patients with nursing care, and the owners with knowledge and advice that enable them to take good care of their animals.”

Kimie

Anna is currently serving a private veterinary clinic. “I love this job! I enjoy a lot to be a member of the team to take care of patients and injured animals, and to be an interpreter for clients. Although working hour is long, after all it is very meaningful to be a veterinary nurse.”

Anna

Serena works in the Wildlife Rescue Centre of Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG). KFBG’s mission is to harmonise people’s relationship with the environment. “My main role is to assist the veterinarian to treat and take care of our display and rescued animals. I am glad that I can apply what I have learnt during my veterinary nursing studies to provide good nursing care to the animals. I hope more people can join the veterinary nursing career as more animals in need will benefit.”
