Fuji Electric offers the latest in low-cost inkjetrecording with the PHE Inkjet Series Recorder. This 100mm recorder, built with polymer plasticmold technology to make it lightweight anddurable, boasts many useful features. The PHE,which is available in one or two channel recording, offers continuous analog trending on the same axiswhich eliminates the phase shift syndrome exhib-ited by conventional pen recorders. In addition, ithas many digital printing capabilities—periodicdata, scale line, alarm condition, burnout, and pa-rameter printing.

Featuring an affordable inkjet print mechanismin a strip chart recorder, the PHE prints crisp, no-smudge characters without physical contact withthe paper. This printhead sprays the ink in tinydots to create a trace in vivid colors for one or twochannel continuous recording. Utilizing a piezo-electric element, the PHE recorder creates stun-ning reports and print quality for the same priceas a pen recorder.

While analog pen recorders have many movingparts and frequently require maintenance and re-pairs in order to keep them in working condition, the PHE recorders are extremely reliable and willgive you years of trouble-free operation becausethey have a third of the parts of conventional stripchart recorders. If that’s not enough, the PHE isbacked by a two-year warranty.

So, if you’re looking for an economical recorderthat offers many of the features found in higher-priced instruments, look no further than the FujiElectric PHE.

Why use dot-matrix or fiber-tip pen printingwhen Fuji Electric’s patented, cutting-edge recording technology offers an affordable inkjetrecorder? With an excellent rating for measuringrange accuracy and analog trace accuracy, and athree-year warranty.

The PHC Series (100mm) and the PHA Series(180mm) recorders offer brilliant six color record-ing utilizing Fuji Electric’s patented inkjet mecha-nism. Tiny piezo elements electronically dispensesmall dots of colored ink, 0.3mm in diameter, ontothe chart paper. This non-contact printing ad-vancement traces vibrant trend lines and printssharp alphanumeric characters.

This technology, previously availableon expensive printers only, now comesin a strip chart recorder at an afford-able price. If you note the difference inprint quality between the dot-matrixand the inkjet typefaces, you’ll con-clude there’s simply no reason to use adot-matrix type recorder anymore.

The inkjet cartridges have a long lifeof up to 6 months of continuous operation. Eachchannel is assigned its own color, and reports gen-erated in reference to that channel are printed inthe corresponding color. As this method of printingrequires only one mechanism, these recorders re-quire fewer moving parts than conventionalrecorders — that means years of extremely reli-able, trouble-free operation for you.

As each channel has its own 16-bit A/D convert-er, these instruments offer high speed sampling ofthe input signal. Furthermore, these recordersare fully programmable from their easy-to-read,fluorescent front panels for a variety of parame-ters such as:

• Pass code• Main and Sub chart speeds• Record mode — trend/logging• Recording range• Input signal• Tag number• Communication parameters• Ink monitor status• Language (English, French, or German)• List print request• Daily report, date and time, and alarm settings• Illumination status• And more...

The Modulogger™ is a modular, self-con-tained data logging and alarming system de-signed for field, production floor and lab datacollection. As a self-contained, battery or line-powered, stand-alone unit, the Moduloggercan be deployed for reliable data collection ofdigital and analog inputs, storing them to in-ternal or PCMCIA memory. Easily pro-grammed with HyperWare™, the ModuloggerSeries has extremely powerful processing ca-pabilities for data reduction (averaging,min/max, etc) mathematical manipulation (al-gebraic, trig, time integrals, etc), as well asunlimited, User-programmable, intelligentdata logging capabilities.

The ModuLogger consists of a User-speci-fied stack of ruggedly packaged, plug-together,interface modules. Increasing the functionali-ty of the ModuLogger is easily accomplishedwith communication options, additional ana-log or digital inputs (ModuLogger only), LCDdisplay and memory expansion modules tomeet your specific application, or build a fullycustomized system based on the ML-300 sys-tem integration product.

The ModuLogger CPU base module containsthe system microprocessor, data storage mem-ory, 13 bit Analog to Digital converter, basicUser switches and indicators, RS-232 port, and Cold Junction Compensation circuitry. Italso includes four alarm outputs (2 relays,TTL and 5V software controllable), four uni-versal analog inputs, and one digitalcount/event input. The analog inputs are soft-

ware configurable for 6 thermocouple types,15 ranges of DC voltage or 7 ranges of DC cur-rent (specifications are identical to MLIM-1).Each analog input offers full differential in-puts, software programmable configuration,front-end completion circuitry and ruggedsuppression protection circuitry to insure reli-able accurate readings.

The ModuLogger is easily expandable froma family of plug-on modules. Choose from ad-ditional analog inputs (isolated or non-isolat-ed), digital I/O, modem communication, PCM-CIA memory card interface, Userinterface/display, battery power and integrat-ed sensor power supply. As modules are added, they stack onto the CPU base module, build-ing a layered instrument to meet your needs.Modules are self-identifying and configurablevia the HyperWare software for input type andrange within the module’s capability.ModuLogger allows for up to 5 added I/O mod-ules. The ModuLogger is ordered by individualline items so it is recommended to consultDavis technical sales for assistance with speci-fying ModuLogger components.

The ML-300 system can house either theModuLogger or the ModuLogger MINI and ad-ditional interface modules or ancillary optionsfor a complete data logging solution. Availableoptions include rechargeable Gel-Cell batter-ies, cellular telephone or RF communications, regulated power supply for sensor excitation,Photovoltaic charging, and an EtherNet connection.

Agilent Datalogger/Data Acquisition System

Measurements You Can TrustWith the 34970A, you get the benefit of proven performance,

universal inputs with built-in signal conditioning, and modularflexibility—in a compact data-acquisition package. Whetheryou need to measure temperature, AC/DC volts, resistance, fre-quency or current, the 34970A can handle it. The internal au-toranging DMM eliminates the need for expensive external sig-nal conditioning. This unique design allows complete per-chan-nel configurability for maximum flexibility and quick, easy setup. Three module slots and eight switch/control modules allowyou to customize the 34970A to meet your specific require-ments. Free Software Saves You Time and Money

BenchLink Datalogger software gives you a familiarWindows® interface for test configuration and real-time datadisplay and analysis. Even better, this full-featured data log-ging application is included free with every standard 34970A.Datalogger/Data Acquisition System In One

In the past, you had to choose between the simple operationand low cost of a Datalogger or the flexibility and higher perfor-mance of a modular data acquisition system. The 34970A givesyou the best of both: a simple user interface with low per-chan-nel cost, modular construction and impressive measurementperformance.Log Up To 120 Channels

Configured with a 20-channel relay multiplexer, the 34970Ais a powerful, low-cost datalogger that’s quick to set up andeasy to run. It’s perfect for a multitude of data logging andmonitoring applications, either stand-alone or with a computer. Its modular design makes it scaleable from 20 to 120 channels, and lets you add actuator, digital I/O and analog output chan-nels for simple control. Its rugged features make it perfect forportable applications, and its small footprint makes it ideal forcramped benchtop testing. Standard HP-IB (IEEE 488) andRS-232 interfaces let you program the instrument for automated tests.

The 34970A measures and converts 11 different input sig-nals: temperature with thermocouples, RTDs, and thermistors;DC/AC volts; 2- and 4-wire resistance; frequency and period;DC/AC current.

Alarms are available on a per-channel basis as well. Enter ahigh limit, a low limit, or both. You can assign one of four TTLalarm outputs to any input channel to trigger external alarmlights, sirens, or send a TTL pulse to your control system, with-out a PC connected.

A special display mode monitors a selected input channel, continuously updating the display with new readings—evenduring a scan. It’s great for checking a key input, or for trou-bleshooting your system before a test.

All readings are automatically time-stamped and stored in anon-volatile 50,000-reading memory, enough to hold more thana week’s worth of data. The memory holds your data even after

power is removed, so you can use the 34970A to collect data at aremote location for later uploading to a PC. And because sys-tem configuration is stored in memory, if you lose power in themiddle of a test, the unit resumes scanning when power isreturned.

The internal 6 1⁄2 -digit DMM adds the performance of aworld-class, stand-alone DMM to the 34970A, but at a fractionof the cost and in a fraction of the space. It’s as accurate as thebest bench DMM available: 0.004% basic DCV accuracy, 0.06%basic accuracy, and 0.01% basic resistance accuracy. Patentedtechnology offers outstanding linearity along with 22 bits ofreal resolution. And since it is an integrating A/D, it providesexcellent noise rejection as well. If you need high scan rates, the 34970A is capable of delivering fully converted measure-ments directly to HP-IB to RS-232 at speeds of up to 250 ch/s.The input section of the DMM is optically isolated and shieldedfrom the 34970A’s earth-referenced circuitry and computer in-terface, offering up to 300V or input isolation.

The internal DMM lets you measure 11 types of inputs easi-ly and inexpensively. Built-in signal conditioning and conver-sion routines turn raw inputs directly into real information.

The 5500MF is a low cost data acquisitionboard for the PC ISA Bus. The 5500MF has 8 highlevel (± 10 Volts) pseudo-differential analog inputsmultiplexed to a 12 bit A/D converter. Total hard-ware conversion time is approximately 40 mi-croseconds: maximum throughputs of 25 KHz canbe achieved when operating under program con-trol. The board also has 16 lines of TTL level digi-tal I/O with two 8 bit registers. In addition to theanalog and digital I/O, the 5500MF contains an8254 counter/timer chip which provides the boardwith three programmable timers, two of which canbe used as input counters. This counter/timer fea-ture allows the 5500MF to be used in pulse gener-ation, timing, and counting applications.
