La temporada de fiestas es una época mágica cuando nos reunimos con seres queridos y buenos amigos a celebrar viejas tradiciones y el año que ha transcurrido. Estamos encantados que haya decidido pasar estas fiestas tan especiales con nosotros y le extendemos la más cordial invitación a disfrutar el Programa de Fiestas de este año en Altos de Chavón, nuestra maravillosa ciudad de los artistas.

Inauguraremos oficialmente la temporada con nuestro tradicional Encendido de Luces Navideñas el 13 de diciembre y esa noche tendremos la presencia de un importante invitado recién llegado del Polo Norte, Santa Claus, acompañado de sus alegres duendes, así que traigan sus pequeños (y también sus cámaras!)

Como todos los años, nuestro programa está lleno de fascinantes eventos culturales a cargo de los mejores talentos Dominicanos en artes escénicas. Gracias a la entusiasta colaboración del Ministerio de Cultura y muy especialmente su Ministro, José Antonio Rodríguez, así como al gran apoyo de Central Romana Corporation, estos eventos están abiertos a nuestra comunidad de La Romana sin cargo alguno. No se pierda las magníficas presentaciones de la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Juvenil, la Compañía Nacional de Danza Contemporánea, el Ballet Nacional, el Coro Nacional y el Coro de Cámara Koribe.

También tendremos villancicos a cargo del Coro Madrigalistas y el Coro Armonía y merengues tradicionales con la Banda Dekadas. Rock, Pop y Jazz Dominicanos también tendrán sus mejores representantes en el escenario de Chavón con Toque Profundo, ganadores del Premio Soberano a la Mejor Banda de Rock de 2014; la talentosa banda de Benny & The Cupids y el original grupo musical Retro Jazz.

La Academia de Ballet Elizabeth Zeller con su grupo de jóvenes talentos locales presentará su función “Don Quijote”. Como de costumbre, los fondos recaudados por los boletos de entrada serán donados al Hogar de Ancianos Padre Abreu.

The Holiday Season is a magical time when we gather together with loved ones and good friends to celebrate old traditions and the year gone by. We are delighted to have you with us during these very special festivities and extend you a warm invitation to enjoy this year’s Holiday Program at Altos de Chavón, our lovely artist village.

We will officially inaugurate this wonderful season with the traditional Christmas Lighting Ceremony on December 13th and we will have a very special guest for the evening, Santa Claus, fresh for the North Pole with its group of merry elves, so please make sure to bring the little ones (and your cameras too!)

Like every year, our program is filled with wonderful cultural events featuring some of the best Dominican performing arts talents. Thanks to the enthusiastic collaboration of the Ministry of Culture, in the person of its Minister José Antonio Rodríguez and the great support of Central Romana Corporation, these performances have been made available free of charge to our community of La Romana. Don’t miss the magnificent presentations by the National Youth Symphonic Orchestra, National Company of Contemporary Dance, National Ballet, National Chorus, and Koribe Chamber Choir.

We will also have Christmas carols by the Madrigalistas Chorus and the Armonia Choir, and traditional holiday merengues by the Dekadas Band. Dominican Rock, Pop and Jazz will also have the best representatives on stage at Chavón with Toque Profundo, winners of the 2014 Soberano Award for Best Rock Group; the talented Benny & The Cupids band and unique Retro Jazz musical group.

The Elizabeth Zeller Ballet Academy and its group of young local talents will present “Don Quijote”. As customary, proceeds from admission tickets for this special performance will be donated to the Padre Abreu Home for the Elderly.

Es ya una tradición que, con los auspicios de Casa de Campo, el Central Romana y la Fundación Altos de Chavón, se celebre de manera especial la temporada navideña.

También lo es que el Ministerio de Cultura se aúne con dicha celebración, por entender que se abre, cada vez, una oportunidad para que nuestros artistas reciban el aplauso de un público diferente al que cotidianamente le muestran su esfuerzo y creatividad.

Para este año, la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Juvenil, la Compañía Nacional de Danza Contemporánea, el Coro Nacional, el Coro de Cámara KORIBE y nuestro Ballet Nacional, han sido los seleccionados para mostrar sus dones en el preciado escenario de Altos de Chavón y en la magnífica Plaza Chavón.

Nos sentimos complacidos de que así sea. Auguramos un nuevo éxito a las presentaciones y deseamos que a todos, organizadores y participantes, les sea grato formar parte de este tiempo de celebración de la más significativa fecha de la historia de la humanidad.

It has already become a tradition that with the spon-sorship of Casa de Campo, Central Romana and The Altos de Chavón Foundation, the Holiday Season is celebrated in a special way.

It has also become a tradition that the Ministry of Culture joins this celebration in the understanding that it opens, each time, an opportunity for our artists to receive applause from a different audience from that which usually acclaims their efforts and creativity.

This year, the National Youth Symphonic Orchestra, the National Company of Contemporary Dance, the National Choir, the KORIBE Chamber Choir and our National Ballet, have been selected to show their talent at the beautiful stage of Altos de Chavón and the magnificent Plaza Chavón.

We are very pleased to contribute to make it so. We trust these presentations will be very successful and hope that both organizers and participants will enjoy being part of this time of celebrating the most signifi-cant date in the history of humankind.

El artista francés Emilio Robba tiene a su cargo la dirección artística de los talleres artesanales y puede encontrar en nuestro salón de exhibición hermosas piezas para decorar su hogar.

Our Ceramics, Weaving and Screen Printing workshops are classrooms where great Dominican artisans put all their talent to create unique handmade pieces. French artist Emilio Robba is responsible for the artistic direction of the workshops and you will find in our showroom beautiful pieces to decorate your home.
