Program ReviewProgram Review
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program provides career
exploration and planning materials to high schools across
the country. The Program encourages students to explore a
wide variety of careers, rather than limiting their exploration
by telling them what they can or should do.

Importance of Career ExplorationImportance of Career Exploration
Many times, students make decisions about college or
careers before they have spent time thinking about the
following key areas:
The ASVAB Program gives you the opportunity to explore a variety of careers using knowledge you have gained about your interests and skills through assessment components and structured activities.
Student BenefitsStudent Benefits
The ASVAB Program encourages you to:
• Explore– Learn about yourself and the world of work
• Plan– Find out what you need to do to
meet career goals
• Do– Take steps toward getting

“It’s a great break-down of their types, and it links seamlessly to appropriate careers. It also interests students in careers they may not have otherwise considered.”

• The ASVAB is required for any student who plan to enter the military.
• Each branch of the military sets minimum scores for entry. To learn more about minimum score requirements for each branch, visit www.military.com/ASVAB .
• The ASVAB stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. Because it is also a military entrance test, you will likely be contacted by someone from the military after taking the test. You do not have to join the military, but you should be aware that you may be contacted by recruiters as a result of taking the test.
