Achievement 4:

TransNet included an article in our October email newsletter to educate and possibly recruit additional employers. Although we have not recruited additional employers as this time, it is our goal for the coming year.

Achievement 5:

• As a TMA, GVF strives to be a “best workplaces for its employees” by offering numerous commuter benefits, as well as commuting alternatives. GVF implemented these benefits in order to offer a comprehensive employee benefit package, as well as retaining employees.

• We relocated our offices three years, therefore, we are now accessible to transit and offer amenities so the employees can bike to work. Additionally, telecommuting and flextime are available to help reduce GVF’s emissions, as well as saving the employee money and time spent commuting to work.

• With GVF’s Bike to Work Challenge (http://www.gvfbiketowork.com/), we have prevented 111,765 CO2 emissions and saved 5,813 gallons of fuel over the last three years. During the challenge, cyclists were eligible for raffle prizes to encourage them to continue participating.

• This is just one program that GVF offers to its employees, as well as our partners and the public. During the 2011 Bike to Work Challenge, we had one employee participate.
