Profitable Growth B3X Number one to the customer!

GT540 Web upgrade Guide

Important information & instructions for doing web upgrade :

User needs to backup all his data before doing web upgrade as the same will get deleted during upgrade

Battery should be fully charged (at least 90%) , before starting to upgrade

User needs to have a PC with internet connection, preferably broadband

Great care needs to be taken during upgrade, as the handset me go dead due to cable disconnection, power failure, PC Shut down etc

Phone can be upgraded only if a latest version of firmware is available on the web. If the phone already has latest version, it cannot be upgraded through web.

Only phones in Power on condition can be upgraded through web.



1. Open the below link in your PC browser & click on “Download” to install phone update tool to your PC.

2. Once download link is clicked, the LG B2B App Setup pop up will appear as follows & click on “Run” to install

3. The application will be installed as below & a desktop icon will get created as shown here



4. After installation, the mobile support tool will open as follows Go to “Options & help” & click on “ Country & Language”

5. Select the country as “India” & Language as “English”



6. Now click on “Install USB driver” to download & install USB driver for the respective model

7. Double click on model number to install the driver



8. Driver installation will begin automatically …… Click next to complete the installation till finish



9. Other required driver installations will also begin automatically …… Click next to complete the installation till finish



10.The next driver will also begin to download ……

Click next to complete the installation till finish



11. The next driver will also begin to download …… Click next to complete the installation till finish

One driver installation is complete, “Download Complete” pop-up will appear

Note : Driver installation process will vary from model to model



12.After driver installation, connect phone to PC in “Data Service” mode For GT540, Go to Menu Settings SD card & Phone Storage uncheck “Mass Storage only” For other phones, select “Data service” in Menu Connectivity USB connection mode Data Service

Note : Exit PC Suite if it is running



13. After driver installation, phone will get connected as shown below. Once connected click on “Start Updating”

14. Phone updation process will start as below



15. Phone software update window will open as below …………….



16. Check for the notification …………

Note : During upgrade all data on the phone will get erased. It is recommended to backup data before doing update



17. The update tool checks the PC environment , Battery level in phone & other important parameters



18. The updated software file is getting downloaded ……..

Note : Plz be patient as this may take upto 30 mins to download the file, depending upon internet speed



19. The downloaded files getting uncompressed for loading into the phone ………



20. Phone software download has started ………

Note : During this stage, phone will go to Download mode & will restart…… PLZ DO NOT DISCONNECT



21. Software updation to phone in progress ………



22. Disconnect phone after software download is completed & close the application


SMS Backup Guide

To backup SMS messages on to the SD card, download the SMS back up application from Android Market as shown below

Download the Application After downloading, Open the application Click OK to save the backup file on to from phone menu & click “Backup” the SD card

Messages backing up to SD card Backup file created gets saved to SD card After software download or factory reset, Download the application again, insert SD card & Click on “Restore”

Select the Backup file to be restored back Click “yes” to proceed for restoring SMS Restoring in progress & click OK to proceed
