• Three sessions of 20 minutes A: History (in Cantonese)
B: Short case I– CNS– CVS– Endo OR Joints OR ECG OR CT/MRI
C: Short case II– Abdo– RS– Fundi OR Skin OR X-ray/CT scan
Short Cases
• The examination of the system will consist of 3 parts– Examination technique will be tested on
surrogates (not real patient)
– Identification of abnormal signs will be made from a set of physical findings (may be in the form of audio-visual presentation)
– Interpretation and discussion of the disease will be tested
Passing the clinical examination
• pass 4 out of 6 examiners(given at least 3 or more marks by any 4 examiners)
AND
• Total mark is 16 or more (out of 36)
Final Surgery Exam 2006
• Written papers- paper 1 (MCQs) [4 hrs]
carries 200 marks
- paper 2 (R-type MCQs + MEQs) [3 hrs]
R-type – 80 marks
MEQs – 120 marks
- total marks: 400 marks
• OSCE [2.5 hrs]– total 21 stations and 20
of them carrying marks– 10 marks for each
station– total marks: 200 marks
