Resume Writing/Interviewing Techniques/Getting a Job
Warm up 20 minutesThink of a puzzling or troublesome situation from your student teaching that you would like to share with your peers. Write it down on the lined side of a notecard with your name and grade/subject (5 minutes).Present it to your “group” for feedback. (15 minutes)Groups:
1. Del Campo, Haltiner2. Smilack, Gallegos 3. DeSpain, Fagerlin, Hunt 4. Doughty, Kolasinski, Schauf 5. Vroom, Shockey,6. LeMieux, Valenza Bogaard 7. Komarek, Griffin-Smith 8. Kerl, Haug
If your issue requires broader participation, *star* your notecard. One person’s issue will go to whole group time permitting.
Interview Questions Fishbowl Using the fishbowl technique, the class will
divide in two. One student in the fishbowl will pose the interview question, the other student in the fishbowl will have 3 minutes to respond to sample “interview” questions. At the end of 3 minutes, students outside the fishbowl will add to the fishbowl respondents answers and then rotate positions, the interview becomes the interviewee, the interviewee steps out and one of the fishbowlers steps in. We will continue this way as time allows.
