PROFESSIONALISM AND WORKPLACE NORMS Professionalism in the workspace is an import quality in order to succeed in your career. But what does professionalism actually mean? Is it different inside and outside of academia? This workshop will help to demystify the often unspoken norms that can impact your success as a graduate student and in the workplace. Whether you’re new to the Canadian workplace, or just have limited work experience, this workshop can help you feel prepared to transition smoothly into a new role. Facilitator: Danielle Barkley is a Career Educator who works with the Centre for Student Involvement and Careers to support graduate students at UBC. She completed her PhD in English literature at McGill University and has previous experience as a university instructor and writing consultant.
