School of Professional Programmes The School of Professional Programmes offers professional courses in three main categories: Accountancy, Business Administration, and Information Communication Technology (ICT). Students of Accountancy and Business courses can be examined locally by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) or by foreign examination bodies such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or the Association of Business Executives (ABE). Students are required to register with the examination body of their specified programme in addition to applying to KCA University. Examination bodies charge registration, examination, and annual renewal fees; details can be found in the fee structure booklet. Intakes are for January and July except for the IT courses that have an intake every week. Mock results can be used for admissions. PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES Entry Requirements KCSE Mean Grade C+ with C+ in Mathematics and English Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Certified Public Accountants are skilled and competent professional accountants, auditors, finance managers, tax consultants and practitioners. Certified Public Secretaries (CPS) Certified Public Secretaries are expert practitioners in corporate governance, corporate secretarial practice, consultancy, business management and administration, and human resource management. Certified Securities Investment Analyst (CSIA) Certified Securities Investment Analysts are experts in financial analysis, consultants and practitioners in investments and securities, portfolio management of retirement benefit schemes and investment banking. Certified Information Communication Technologist (CICT) Certified Information Communication Technologists are skilled and competent system developers and programmers, network administrators, systems engineers, ICT consultants and practitioners.

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - ACCA (UK) The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is a recognized international qualification that embeds the global accounting education standards. A student acquires core knowledge in all areas of accountancy so that he/she can choose a suitable finance role in any industry. ACCA focuses on professional values, ethics, and governance which are essential as the accounting profession moves towards strengthened codes of conduct, regulation and legislation. Entry Requirements Entry Level I Introductory Certificate No prior qualification required Intermediate Certificate Minimum KCSE Mean Grade C Diploma in Accounting and Business Pass in Intermediate Certificate Entry Level II ACCA Part I KCSE Mean Grade C+ with C in Mathematics and English ACCA Part II Part I ACCA Part III Part II Note: Students with academic qualifications (Degree holders) are eligible for exemptions in the courses above. TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS Entry Requirements KCSE Mean Grade D+ Accounting Technician Certificate (ATC) The Accounting Technicians qualification equips candidates with skills and competencies to work as middle level accountants providing technical support in accounting, auditing, and taxation. Information Communication Technology Technicians (ICTT) Information Communication Technology Technicians have the technical know-how and skills to work in the dynamic ICT industry as technicians in systems development, systems programming, administration, and maintenance. Association of Business Executives (ABE) Business Administration The ABE Business Administration programme provides the student with theoretical background in the study of business while developing a range of practical skills. Major topics covered include management, marketing, economics, and accounting. Entry Requirements ABE Diploma Level IV KCSE Mean Grade D ABE Higher Diploma Level V KCSE Mean Grade C ABE Graduate Diploma Level VI ABE Higher Diploma Level V Group Computer Application Packages The different packages are designed to give the student relevant computer skills in networking, accounting, and other business operations. The packages include various Microsoft Applications well combined to provide the student that added advantage. Certificate in Computer Applications (CCA) International Computer Driving License (ICDL) Computerized Accounting with Quick Books, Sage, or Pastel Linux (Level 1-3) CISCO (Level 1-4) LANGUAGES Certificate and Diploma in Business French Certificate and Diploma in Business German Certificate and Diploma in Chinese Mode of study for all programmes: Full time, Part time, and Weekend
