A SERVANT-LEADERS MISSION IS TO IDENTIFY AND MEET THE NEEDS OF OTHERS; HENCE ACTS IN RESPONSE TO THE WAY OTHERS ARE TREATED, NOT IN RESPONSE TO THE WAY HE OR SHE IS TREATED.
KEY PRACTICES1. Self-awareness2. Listening 3. Changing the Pyramid4. Developing Your Colleagues (classmates) 5. Coaching, not controlling6. Unleashing the Energy and Intelligence of Others7. Foresight
“Organizations led by servant-leaders are more likely to generate both success and significance-both bottom line results and the meaning that comes from generosity, service, and loving relationships.” K. Blanchard
SOME ORGANIZATIONS THAT BELIEVE IN SERVANT LEADERSHIP• AT&T Greenleaf worked here for 38 years• Schneider Corporation “Engineering, surveying, and
geographical information systems• Synovus Financial Corporation • TDIndustries “Large Mechanical Contractor”• Southwest Airlines• Kroger Grocery
WHY CONSIDER SERVANT-LEADERSHIP
A better way? Let’s debate…
“A Servant Leader is audacious enough to put other’s needs ahead of herself/himself with no need to limit themselves with expectation’s and agenda’s. They lead with actions to build community regardless of recourse or trends. They suppress “the ego” and gain confidence in Love, Faith, and Vulnerability. Servant Leaders are not weak and/or push-overs but some of the most courageous women and men sacrificing, to be a pillars for a better tomorrow.” J. McClure
