• Contains cement performance enhancing additives to give the following benefits compared

with ordinary Portland Cement

Lower water demand, virtually eliminated separation of water, cement & aggregate to reduce bleed, a

homogenous more cohesive mix, and increased resistance of hardened concrete/mortar to freeze/thaw

attack.

Professional Grade Cement is supplied in 25kg bags within the UK.

STORAGE

Professional Grade Cement is a cement-based material and should be handled and stored with care. This

product may be stored, unopened, in either indoor or outdoor conditions clear of the ground. If stored

SAND CEMENT SCREED: DATA SHEET

PROPERTIES

Sand Cement Screed complies with BS EN 998-2 and is a kiln dried, factory produced

1:3 cement:sand mortar.

STORAGE

Sand Cement Screed should be stored in unopened bags clear of the ground, in cool dry conditions and

protected from damp, frost, heat and excessive draught. Please use within 6 months of the packing date

shown on the bag, which is in a week/year format.

HOW TO MIX SAND CEMENT SCREED

These mixing instructions are designed to help you get the best out of Sand Cement Screed:

• Segregation can take place during transit, which is why we recommend you thoroughly mix the bag

contents before use.

• For optimum results, mix the contents of the bag thoroughly by means of forced action mechanical

mixers such as pan or paddle, while being careful to use approximately 1.6 litres of clean water per

bag to get the consistency you want for both laying and thorough compaction.

• The use of mechanical free fall mixers should be avoided as their use can lead to the balling of screed

material and affect the materials performance.

• The screed should be used within an hour of the water being added.

• If you add too much water, the mix will be weaker, it will take longer to set and the overall

performance of the screed will be impaired.

• One of the main benefits of Sand Cement Screed is that all plasticisers and workability aids are

incorporated into the mix, which means you don’t have to add anything to maximise the performance

of the product.

• Once laid, we recommend you cover the screed for at least 7 days with plastic sheeting or other

suitable material.

3 Rapid Set Post Mix is pre-mixed and it can be emptied straight from the bag into the hole.

4 For optimum results, ensure Rapid Set Post Mix is added uniformly around the post until it is above

the level of the water. If any dry powder remains visible at this stage, add additional water until all

the water is absorbed by the material.

5 Adjust the post into position and make sure it is supported until the material is set, which takes

approximately ten minutes.

6 Once the concrete is set, cover it with earth, grass or the decorative aggregate of your choice.

Available in a consistent, natural colour. This 1:6 cement:sand mortar can achieve your desired workability

when you add water in small increments.

STORAGE

General Purpose Masonry Mortar should be stored in unopened bags clear of the ground, in cool dry

conditions and protected from damp, frost, heat and excessive draught. Please use within 6 months of

HOW TO MIX GENERAL PURPOSE MASONRY MORTAR

These mixing instructions are designed to help you get the best out of General Purpose

Masonry Mortar:

• Segregation can take place during transit, which is why we recommend you thoroughly mix the bag

you hand mix to add water slowly and mix continuously, stopping to test the mixture of the mortar

until you get the consistency you want.

• The mortar should be used within an hour of water being added.

• Moisture loss can happen very quickly where temperatures are high and in high absorbency masonry

units. The best way to avoid this is to pre-wet the masonry units.

• If you add too much water, the mix will be weaker, it will take longer to set and the overall

performance of the mortar will be impaired.
