Vision

Ewald Consulting Professional Development provides an innovative, lifelong learning path for professionals to gain confidence and expertise in their career.

With ongoing, rapid changes in technology, workforce development and the economy, associations must evolve to address the changing professional development and training needs of a diverse workforce.

Learning happens in many ways – classroom, online webinars and courses, video, peer-to-peer, mentorship programs and online communities. By 2020, millennials will represent 40% of the workforce, 75% by 2025. It has never been more important to deliver learning experiences that create outcomes and impact performance in new and innovative ways.

The Ewald Consulting Professional Development Department enables the delivery of educational content based on adult learning principles, learning styles, agile learning design and blended learning. Our staff provides expertise and solutions specific to associations’ programs that are designed for continuing education, certification and workforce learning and performance.

With a focus on innovative and research-based delivery methods, our team works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to implement meaningful

learning strategies that leverage instructional design, assessment and evaluation to help your association serve as the preferred source of professional development in your industry.

Whether in-person, online, instructor-led or self-study, the purpose of training is to develop specific skills and competencies that change behavior and performance that are measurable.

According to McKinsey Quarterly, March 2015, half of 1,400+ global executives say that organization capacity building is one of their top three strategic priorities. Capacity building is the process of developing and strengthening skills and abilities that organizations need to survive, adapt and thrive in a fast-changing world. Professional development is the most effective method for an association to build the capacity of its members with innovative and blended delivery.

Certification, Certificate & Continuing Education Programs

Professional certification is a growing field as the demand increases for expertise in professions that are growing more complex. Our team has experience starting, maintaining, marketing and growing certification programs. Key components of any certification program include establishing job-related competency standards, compiling a body of knowledge, developing an examination process to demonstrate knowledge and skill and communicating the value to members and key constituents. Our department manages and markets eight certification programs with both in-person and online course delivery.

Any new certification program set-up should take into account financing, governance, structure, eligibility requirements, assessment, insurance considerations and ongoing administration systems. Those seeking certification seek knowledge, personal satisfaction, knowledge verification, a competitive edge in the job market, higher compensation and career advancement.

As an alternative to full certification programs, many associations are developing certificate programs (which indicate completion of a course or series of courses with a specific focus). A certificate program does not require validation of competency or recertification.

In addition, our team maintains 24 of our association clients’ continuing education credit applications and ongoing management. All of our clients provide professional development through monthly programs, symposia, online courses, webinars and conferences. Our team works with our clients to assess whether certification or a certificate program is the best option for their profession.

Mentorship Mentorship is an important association offering to connect members in a variety of ways, including in person and online. Mentorship and coaching

The Women’s Health Leadership TRUST’s (TRUST) ACCELERATE! Mentorship program was developed as a way to accelerate the development of mid-level health care women leaders and share health care leadership wisdom using personal and career experience within a trusting, semi-structured one-to-one relationship. Mentors and mentees meet on a monthly basis in addition to quarterly mentee-only roundtable discussions with a structured agenda and senior TRUST leader.

models provide an interactive and personalized way to deliver professional development to members.

The benefits for mentees include gaining access to senior women health care leaders to observe and build core values, leadership character and presence, judgment and effectiveness — and an opportunity to expand experiences, contributions and career advancement, and to pass it forward when ready. Mentors have the opportunity to leverage their wisdom and experiences to benefit another member — giving back to women leaders in health care and leaving a legacy. It gives them the chance to develop skills as a teacher, manager, strategist and consultant.

Learning and teaching are not inherently linked. Much learning takes place without teaching, and indeed teaching takes place without learning.

Generations At Play

Ewald Consulting developed the Generations at Play interactive training program. This program provides insightful training about generational differences and the impact in the workforce. It does so in an engaging way by incorporating fun activities from each generation. In addition, our team is developing further content and programming that our clients can deliver online and in person.
