Saturday Seminars
Young Writers’
Programs
I have never been to an HVWP seminar before. It was very interesting and fun, and I would come to another one if offered. It was different from my regular coursework because it was more "hands-on." For example, while we wrote our color poem, we actually went through the process of what the children go through in writing. In my regular coursework, I feel like we only learn from the book or power point presentations.
The seminar made me feel as if I was part of the community, and learning new ways to teach in an Elementary class. I will keep in mind what I learned from the seminar and use it while teaching children in the future.
