New Bio Platform –Visual CV

• Each person will get a customized dashboard for bio creation, a new branded bio and

customized URL to allow for digital distribution

• Visual CV allows you to duplicate your bio up to 20 times. This will allow you to customize for

different practice areas or different project specific needs.

• Your bio will live in this online template, so formatting should not be an issue, and updates can

be made with ease.

• Please take a few minutes to update your bio with the following instructions to update your bio,

or create a few bios to better market yourself for projects.

In an effort to standardize our bios and make editing and updating bios easier we have found an

online tool that will help with this process.

Creating your Account

1. Copy and paste this link into a new browser window:

2. Enter your first name, last name, email address and

password and click ‘CONTINUE’.

Your email and password will be your log-in information

moving forward. To access your Bio after account

creation, simply visit www.visualcv.com/login

Duplicating your Bio

1. To begin, please duplicate your bio

so you have a “backup” template

just in case.

2. To duplicate your resume – from

the home dashboard where you

started, click “NEW RESUME”

3. In the last drop down option click

where it says – New Resume –

then drop down to select which

resume you’d like to duplicate

4. AVOID importing a resume on this

screen. This is ruin the Sand Cherry

customized template.

5. Customize each resume URL based

upon specification. See next slide for

URL customization.

Visual CV allows you to duplicate your bio up to 20 times. This will allow you to customize for

Tips

• Tips for success throughout this process – have your current (no matter how old) bio available

for use. It makes this process easier for you if you can simply copy and past sections.

• In an effort to prevent mistakes/deletions – please see next slide on how to duplicate the

template prior to making your edits. This way you will always have a template backup. Suggest

you save as “Sand Cherry Template BACKUP”

Creating your Bio

1. Once you are in your account, in the upper right corner click ‘RESUMES’.

2. Click the box that says ‘SAND CHERRY TEMPLATE’

3. This will take you into a pre-populated template

where you can edit the existing information and

enter your own.


Uploading your Information

1. Choose ‘Sand Cherry Template’ in the

resume section of your account.

2. In the upper left corner, DO NOT

choose ‘IMPORT’.

3. This will change the template and revert

back to original (without Sand Cherry

Customizations.)

You must copy and paste your information into the template. AVOID the import option.


Creating your Bio

1. Click on each section

and begin typing

(copying and pasting

from old bio if you

prefer) to add your

information.

2. For title, Contractors

can simply put

‘Consultant’ as their

title.

3. Make sure to follow

the formatting that is

used in the template.

4. Please DO NOT

include phone and

email. There is an

option for those, but

please leave blank. It

will not show up on

the final document.


*If you have issues with your bullet points, the platform works like Word. There are bullets available at the top.

Filling In Your Bio

3. The “About Me”

section is a section to

make sure the client

knows you’re human,

as per Jason Dorsey’s

suggestion. Feel free

to exhibit your

passions, creativity,

etc. in this small

section.


Professional Summary

Your professional summary should include years experience, Sand Cherry title, your short

elevator speech, and Sand Cherry company description. In your second paragraph, you can cover

experience and education prior to Sand Cherry. If you’d like to be able to highlight more project

experience, keep this section smaller as project experience is most beneficial for the client.

Below is the required Sand Cherry paragraph. Please incorporate as you have room. Some may

have more room than others, but from a branding perspective we want all bios to have the same

Sand Cherry information.

Add your image

1. Mouse over the image and

click the pencil that

appears on the right hand

corner.

2. A blue box will appear.

Click on the headshot in

the upper left corner and

it will allow you to upload

a new image.

3. Please select a vertical not

horizontal photo (as it fits

the template better)

4. If you notice your

headshot is blurry, please

contact Tiffany Andrews

or Kim Wharton for an

updated version of your

headshot and larger image

size to ensure quality.


Sharing your Bio

1. To export as a PDF, click the ‘PDF’ button in the

upper navigation bar.

2. Please view your PDF and see if it is on one page,

if not please edit to limit to ONE PAGE ONLY.

3. To share via a unique URL, choose ‘SHARE’ and

then either copy the URL or choose the medium

with which you’d like to share it.

4. To change your unique URL, click on settings on

the left navigation.

5. Click the settings button at the bottom of the

blue box that appeared.

6. Here you can rename your bio, as well as change

the unique URL.

7. To save your PDF please save as

LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_SANDCHERRYBIO20

Visual CV allows you to export your bio as a PDF or share it via a unique URL.


Analytics

Visual CV also offers a full array of analytics so you can see who has viewed your bio via the

unique URL. You can access the analytics by exiting to the home screen of your account and

choosing ‘Recent Views’ in the upper navigation.


Bio Review Process

• Send your customized link and PDF to Kim Wharton for approval.

• They will ensure that your bio has been completed according to the instructions and matches

the rest of the Sand Cherry bios. If you have completed more than one, based upon project

experience or practice area focus, please submit all for review.

• Once reviewed, and approved, please send your FINAL customized link and PDF to your

supervisor, mentor and Kim Wharton their use.

• If you have any issues with Visual CV as a platform, bio creations or duplications please call

Tiffany at 720-445-1696 or email her at [email protected].

• In the event that you accidentally click “Upload Resume” or end up outside of the Sand Cherry

template, Tiffany can reset your Visual CV account so you can start over.

Prior to completion – submit for approval to ensure no additional edits are necessary.
