coordinated by OIE and FAO to empower regional alliances in the fight against

transboundary animal diseases (TADs): the Global Framework for progressive

control of TADs (GF TADs). Its objective is to provide for capacity building and

to assist in establishing program for the specific control of certain TADs based

on regional priorities.

(3) Awarded the travel award to participate in the 13th Conference of the Society of

Free Radical biology and Medicine (SFRBM) (USA) held in Denver, Colorado,

USA. This award as a testimony for the best Research findings submitted to

participate in the 13th SFRBM meeting and conference in Denver, Colorado,

It was first time to report (Worldwide) the following:

(1) From Post-doctoral Study at Duke University (USA):

(i) The inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase (iNOS) is required for full

expression of mitochondrial biogenesis during sepsis.

(ii) iNOS affects the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) transcription,

most likely through regulation of the mitochondrial protein import

pathway.

(2) From PhD study at UPM:

Development of a gene-deleted vaccine; thymidine-kinase

negative (TK-) vaccine against pseudorabies virus.
