DB “2-in-1” safety barriers are systems that can be used in
temporary and permanent.
DELTABLOC® offers several sys-tems featuring the DB “2-in-1” applicability. As temporary safety barriers in moveable installation they provide containment level T3 with a minimum working width of W2. When installed permanently, these systems show their true per-formance spectrum.
Depending on the type of ancho-ring and the chosen application, the DB “2-in-1” barriers achieve working width W1, W2 and W3 at containment level H2.

Temporary Safety Barriers
The generic patented DELTABLOC®
technology is based on the well-pro-ven tension bar in combination with the unique coupling. The precast con-crete elements are connected like a chain and -bility. Additionally elastomer bearings between the free-standing singleelements ensure a controlled damping of peak loads.
This technology was optimized in
tests. The new generation of precast concrete barriers with “rigid” impact
behaviour do not move even at heavy impacts and still provide another essential feature: behaviour for small passenger cars.
Recently, DELTABLOC® put all its knowledge and expertise intodeveloping the
meeting all current engineering and safety requirements.

At the obliga-tory EN 1317 full-scale crash tests we have measured the impact forces and stress to the bridge structure un-der real impact conditions, thus pro-viding bridge engineers important information for the designing and di-mensioning of bridges.

The DB SafeGate can be seamlessly integrated into the DELTABLOC® chain.
A rigid vehicle restraint system with containment level H2 was requested on the Nijmegen Stadsbrug. The
required the development of special elements which allowed the integration of a glass noise barrier and light polesto the elements.
DELTABLOC® provided the solution with an adaptation of the DB 80AS-A. Openings for the integration of the glass elements and anchorings for the installation of light poles on top were designed. The challenge was to control the adaptation of the system, so that the containment performance of the system was not affected.

Usually, a safety barrier is required in front of a noise barrier wall to provide the obligatory protection for potentially wayward vehicles. To minimize the required space, the
® combines both systems into an intelligent solution.
The noise barrier wall is designed as a free-standing, T-shaped wall element,
system parts act as independent chains linked to each other via the proven DELTABLOC® couplings.
If a small passenger car impacts the integrated noise barrier, the
barrier redirects the car providing a soft impact behaviour. As soon as the impact energy exceeds a certain limit, the becomes effective.
