During the week off college I completed HA2 Task 2: Detailed Planning, I created a budget for my work and worked out the cost it would be for me to work on this project in a real life work environment. I also created a time management chart so that I could keep up to date with the tasks and which week they needed to be finished. Below is a screenshot of my Budget for Task 2.

Date: 27/10/2014 – 31/10/2014

During this week I also completed HA2 Task 3: Game Genre Setting and Synopsis.

I first started by creating a mind map of my ideas

I chose to build my game around the Warfare genre and made it into an RPG, I looked at other military style games for the gameplay and RPG games for the levelling up elements that are key in any good RPG game. I also researched into a setting using country’s that are in the news regarding warfare to get a current day feel in regards to the setting.

Here are some images from games that relate to the type of game I am trying to create.

I then found these images of countries that have been damaged by war and thought they would make a good setting for my game.

And finally I looked at these games for inspiration into my RPG levelling/customization system.

During this week I worked on HA2 Task 4: Character Profile and created my character profile, as he was a solider his outfit was fairly easy to pick. I use influences from games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield and Tom Clancy’s games.

I then thought up a list of weapons that the character could use, as well as a back story and a list of accomplishments. I then used SlideShare to upload this to Blogger.

Date: 10/11/2014 – 14/11/2014

After creating my character profile I moved onto HA2 Task 5: Production. Using myself as the subject for the character I took some photographs and narrowed them down to the 5 best (Pictured Below)

I then looked at different images from Google that could be used as the background/in the finished image.

I then narrowed it down to my favourite Background/Photograph and 2 other images that I would use to create my Photoshop amalgam. I then started to trace over this amalgam in Illustrator.

Date: 17/11/2014 – 21/11/2014

After completing the tracing I then put the picture onto the Video Game cover template, in order to complete HA2 Task 6: Jewel Case, below is the finished artwork that I then uploaded to Blogger.

Date: 17/11/2014 – 21/11/2014

After completing my art work and gaining feedback on it I started to work on HA2 Task 7: Review, I published this to my blogger page.
