Standard Communications
SNMP: Internal SNMP Card is standard on all UPS’s to allow UPS management across a LAN using any of the main network communication protocols - TCP/IP, HTTP and network interface (SNMP). ViewPower Pro shutdown/monitoring software shall enable the UPS to integrate easily into medium and large sized networks and provide reliable communications between the UPS and management systems employed.
Modbus: Internal MODBUS/JBUS Card, Protocol converter also standard and used to monitor the UPS using the MODBUS/JBUS protocol on RS232 or RS485 serial lines. It shall also manage a second independent RS232 serial line that can be used to connect to other devices such as the SNMP.
Relay Interface: Four voltage free relays with no common point is standard, provided through a sub-D9 connector. Consisting of 4 output signaling relays
a. Battery Discharge (NO or NC)b. Unit on Bypassc. Low Batteryd. General alarm
Com Ports Standard
Com Port RS-232 & RS-485In the same connector DB9 there are both ports of communication of the equipment, the RS-232
and the RS-485, they cannot be simultaneously used. ˙ Both channels are in use for connecting the UPS with any machine or
devices that has this standard bus. The RS-232 consists of the transmission of serial data, so it is possible to send a large amount of information through a communication cable of just 3 wires.
Communication protocol of the RS-232
The communication protocol used is of MASTER/SLAVE type. The computer or computer system (MASTER) asks about certain data, and the UPS (SLAVE) answers immediately with the required data.
Firstly it will be programmed the communication channel of the computer with the same parameters as the communication channel of the UPS. Then it will be prepared to start the communication and therefore send the UPS the first question.
Physical structure of the RS-485.
Unlike other serial communication links, this uses only 2 wires (pins 4 and 9 of the female DB9 connector) to perform the dialogue between the systems connected to the network. The communication is established by sending and receiving signals in differential mode, which gives the system great immunity to noise and a long reach (approx. 2,635 ft. (800 m).

FLPL-SNMPSNMP/WEB Card and UPS Shutdown and Monitoring Software for Windows/Novell(Standard on ALL Models)
FLPL TH-EMD
The Environmental Monitoring Device (EMD) is a connectivity device to remote monitor temperature, humidity, and smoke via SNMP manager. It also allows to receive contact closure signals, enabling to communicate with up 4 compatible devices such as security system and alarm system. (Requires standard FLPL-SNMP)
FLPL-MODBUS-TCP
TCP Converter w/ Power Supply - Is a converter for the Modbus where the user has programmable applications. TCP is for customers that only use Modbus through TCP. The BASIC programming language enables creation of custom application solutions for the implementation of a serial RS-232/422/485 interface in Ethernet. Includes CD-ROM with examples, additional software and user documentation (PDF).

FirstLine PL Battery
The UPS uses a valve-regulated sealed lead acid (VRLA) heavy duty industrial battery, designed for auxiliary power service in a UPS application. The primary battery is furnished with impact-resistant plastic cases and housed in a matching cabinet(s) next to the UPS. The UPS is capable of utilizing Wet Cell & NiCad batteries.
Protection Against Deep Discharge and Self-Discharge: The UPS is equipped with a device designed to protect the battery against deep discharge, depending on discharge conditions, with isolation of the battery by a circuit breaker. From the monitoring panel you can adjust the battery shutdown voltage as a function of a discharge coefficient to avoid excessive discharge at less than the rated output. A second device helps avoid self-discharge of the battery into the UPS control circuits during an extended shutdown of the UPS (over two hours).Battery Self-Tests: 1. The battery monitoring system performs the following automatic functions:
• Battery circuit check, programmable 9-99 days. • Partial discharge test every three months.

Paralleling
The UPS has expansion capabilities for up to 4 modules paralleled for capacity or redundancy as required to support future growth. The UPS units can be connected in parallel and shall share the current and load between them.In a system with several UPS units connected in parallel, there is a single MASTER unit and the remaining units are SLAVE units. The UPS units must be the same rating and the MASTER is chosen on start-up. The MASTER and SLAVE units can exchange roles. If a unit is being serviced, e.g. due to an inverter fault, it will automatically be excluded. The load at this point will be shared between the units that are still active; if the power in output is excessive for the remaining UPSs, the system logic will switch all the units, including the UPS that was excluded, onto the by-pass line.

Standard Monitoring & Shutdown Software
ViewPower Pro:Is an advanced UPS management software which is perfect for home users and enterprises. It can monitor and manage from one to multiple UPSs in a networked environment including LAN, INTERNET and RS485-based networks. Integrated with Shutdown Wizard, it can not only prevent data loss from power outage and safely shutdown systems, but also store programming data and scheduled shut down UPSs. All UPS working data and event records can be kept in local database system.
Platforms supported by software are listed below: Windows 2000 Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008 (32-bit & 64-bit) Windows 7/8 (32-bit & 64-bit) Windows SBS 2011 Linux RedHat 8, 9 Linux RedHat Enterprise AS3, AS5, AS6 (32-bit) Linux RedHat Enterprise AS6 (64-bit) Linux RedHat Enterprise 5.2 (32-bit & 64-bit) Linux SUSE 10 (32-bit & 64-bit) Linux Cent OS 5.4 (32-bit) Linux Ubuntu 8.X, 9.X, 10.X (32-bit) Linux Ubuntu 10.X (64-bit) Linux Ubuntu 12.04 (32-bit & 64-bit) Linux Fedora 5 Linux OpenSUSE 11.2 (32-bit & 64-bit) Linux Debian 5.x, 6.x (32-bit) Linux Debian 6.x (64-bit) Mac OS 10.6 (64-bit) Mac OS 10.7 (64-bit) Solaris 10 for x86 (32-bit)
ViewPower Pro Features
ViewPower Pro includes monitor service, WEB service and tray service. Monitor service: It is the core of ViewPower Pro software. Monitor service automatically find UPSs in the networks, store UPS working data and event information. It will communicate with UPS, record events, notify users with events, and execute command according to the users’ request.
WEB service: It offers Http or Https service for local or remote users. Users can manage and monitor UPSs for real-time status, information and modify UPS setting parameters via browser such as IE and Firefox.
Tray service: It is management tool for ViewPower Pro software. It includes start monitor, stop monitor, SNMP manager and so on.
Centralized control and monitor up to 1000 UPSs via SNMP or Modbus networks. Offers WEB service to allow remote monitoring service via Intranet or Internet. Offers quick overview for UPS monitoring in Text and Graphic view. Offers user-customized background picture for graphic view with simple drag and drop. Scheduled UPS on/off, battery test, and scheduled wake on LAN programs.
