EMAG has extended the product range of the extremely successful VL-series in the form of the VL 3 DUO, a twin-spindle machine solution for the highly productive manufacturing of chucked parts with a diameter of up to 150 mm.

Five axes + turret with up to twelve tools + automation + optional OP 10 / OP 20 flip-over station. The VLC 100-P is a twin-spindle vertical turning machine with pendulum technology for parts with a diameter of up to 100 mm.

The VL 3 DUO features new technological developments from the last few years (including pick-up automation, the TrackMotion automation system and the modular basic design of the machine) to create a highly productive manufacturing system which delivers maximum productivity with a minimum footprint.

The main focus during the design of the VLC 100-P was on reducing idle times. Non-productive times in the machine due to loading and unloading have been almost completely eliminated. The machine is ideal for workpieces with short machining times since the ratio of machining time to idle time is vital for cost efficiency.

This vertical pick-up turning machine is for the machining of chucked components with a diameter of up to 500 mm. The optimal use of the VSC-series is through technology integration for soft and hard machining.

The cost effective solution for the machining of small and medium size components in two operations. The DUO design has two separate machining areas which means that it has overhead slides which can be programmed independently.

These are high-performance, high-precision machines for mass production – the vertical multi-spindle process allows for the simultaneous machining of two or three workpieces.

Turning, drilling, grinding, milling, gear profiling and honing – all on a single machine. Measuring of workpieces is done with a probe or plug gauge and is fast and accurate as part of the machine setup.

Each machining area has an EMAG disk-type turret at the end which can also be programmed independently.

The VSC TWIN- and VSC TRIO-series combine high-yield production with a small footprint.

These multi-functional production centers in gantry design have a high chip capacity and are ideal for the complete machining of large workpieces.

With its new VM-series, EMAG has launched a machine concept that covers a broad spectrum of applications thanks to its combined turning, milling and drilling technologies and its simple machine design.

The vertical turning centers of the VMC-series are designed for the manufacture of individual parts and small production runs with a wide variety of parts.

Technology integration allows for complete machining in a single setup. Soft and hard machining, interrupted cuts, turning, drilling, milling, grinding and heavy-duty machining with excellent precision.

Extremely accessible machining and a workpiece spindle fitted at the bottom of the work area, yet in the vertical position, ensures short tooling times and maximum flexibility in the manufacturing process. With the VM-series, EMAG offers a manufacturing solution for machining individual parts, prototypes and small production runs.

The tool turret is eqipped with eight to twelve tool positions for machining, depending on the desired tool interface (BMT or VDI). The production of small chucked components often involves very large quantities. In particular, gearbox wheels, planetary gears, sprocket wheels and flange parts are required in millions of units for passenger cars, for example.

The VLC 200 GT is a highly productive machine designed for the hard machining of chucked parts with a diameter of up to 200 mm. The machine features a pick-up automation system which ensures short idle times.

The VLC 200 CG with pendulum technology was created for the highly productive creation of cam parts. In this process, practically all secondary processes, such as measuring, loading and unloading have no effect on the cycle time.

The VLC 100 G / VLC 100 GT have been specially developed for the productive and high precision manufacturing of these components. The machines load themselves with a pick-up system and while one component is being ground, the operator or an automation system can place the next raw part on the revolving transport belt. This considerably reduces the machine’s downtimes.

The VLC 200 GT uses various combinations of processes for the hard machining of chucked parts. Whether it is grinding, scroll-free turning or hard turning – the user has multiple technologies available to them. Electrolyte Management System (EMS)

Systems with chamber filter presses or with microfiltration are available for filtration. The filtrate quality and volume can thus be tailored precisely to requirements. Standard systems from 40 to 600 l/min filtration capacity are available with a high reproducibility of the machining result assured by monitoring conductivity, temperature, pressure, flow rate and pH value. The sludge can be discharged either manually or automatically depending on cutting volume. On request the EMS can be designed to operate without interrupting the production.

The Comfort Standard single machine is the basis for a modular automation concept.

EMAG Comfort Standard (CS) ECM System

This reduces long-term investment costs as it is only necessary to invest in interlinking several processes once production increases (e.g. pre-washing, ECM station 1, ECM station 2, follow-up treatment).

Modular systems for hardening toothed and complex chucked and shaft parts with diameters of up to 1200 mm.

The MIND-M delivers a high level of precision and reliability with a relatively low investment cost. The energy source (MF up to 100 kW, HF up to 30 kW), cooling system and process cell are combined on a single machine in an effort to save space.

Revolutionary in the field of axle pivot hardening: the first vertical pick-up hardening machine with center drive chuck. Outstanding integration capacity in production lines, integrated pick-up automation system and high availability. Simultaneous hardening of shaft and bell is possible if required.

Depending on the workpiece dimensions, required hardness specification and flexibility and batch size requirements, an eldec MIND system is configured using a series of main components comprising the basic machine, energy source, automation components, coolant system, clamping device and tool.

The MIND-M plus is a high-end supplement to this series. Energy sources up to 300 kW MF and 150 kW HF as well as DF and SDF® are possible. To cover the space requirement for this extension, the coolant system is installed separately.

Energy source and coolant system in one for inductive heating. Thanks to the integration of the frequency converter and coolant system in a single housing, the devices are suitable for a wide range of uses. They make inductive brazing, tempering, cutting-edge hardening and coating / decoating practical and straightforward.

Thanks to the high level of component standardization, PICO-S, PICO-M and PICO-L are low-cost devices with uncompromising eldec quality for the inductive heating of a very wide range of workpieces and materials.
