Product Specifications
The Thermo Scientific TruDefender FT analyzer is a rugged, handheld FTIR systemfor rapid, in-the-field identification of unknownchemicals including explosives, narcotics, toxic industrial chemicals, precursors andmore. The instrument brings the power ofFTIR directly into the hazard zone, enablingthe responder to analyze—and act—fasterthan ever before.
Weighing less than three pounds (1.4kg),the TruDefender® FT device was built to meetthe needs of first responders. It is ergonom-ically designed for easy use in Level A gearand rugged enough to withstand the rigorsof field use.
Key Benefits:• Fast, accurate identification. Returns
results in seconds. Onboard hazard data-base provides full safety and treatmentinformation, further speeding appropriateresponse.
• Easy to use. Intuitive, menu-driven interface is consistent across instrumentsfor fast training and proficiency.
• Built for field use. Certified to MIL-STD810F for ruggedness including drop, shock, vibration and operation in extreme temperatures.
• Automatic mixture analysis. Enhancessubstance identification capability andeliminates the need for subtraction ofspectra.
• Easy maintenance. Self-contained andrequires no scheduled maintenance, calibration, warm up time or mirror alignment, and uses no consumables.
Thermo Scientific TruDefender FT Handheld FTIR for Unknown Chemical and Explosives Identification
