The aim of most operations performed to change external contours is to make the outer appearance more attractive and harmonious. Compression garments help effectively to support the overall result.

Why choose aftercare with lipomed compression garments?It is very important to wear compressive clothing for a certain period of time after a cosmetic operation as this will help in achieving the desired result. Liposuction, for instance, creates a gap between the outer skin and the underlying fatty tissue. Frequently asked questionsWhat properties characterise compression garments from medi?

How is lipomed produced?lipomed consists of a compressive warp-knit fabric that exerts compression on the tissue of about 20 mmHg.

How is lipomed used?lipomed is used to compress the operation site after liposuction and provides postoperative compensation for the irregularities on the skin surface caused by the suction instruments. The garments are worn for about 4 to 6 weeks.

How and how often can lipomed be washed?The quality of lipomed permits daily washing during the treatment period. Washing and care instructions are given on the product label.

Can lipomed compression garments be used to treat more than one person?lipomed has been created for postoperative care over a period of about 4 - 6 week and is for single patient use only.

What is the difference between lipomed blackline, lipomed skinline and lipomed basic?lipomed basic is designed for compression therapy after minor surgical procedures and/or can be used after acute treatment with lipomed blackline (black) or lipomed skinline (skin coloured).

Where is the pressure higher in lipomed skinline and lipomed blackline?In lipomed blackline and lipomed skinline, the pressure is highest in the abdominal (tummy) region and the outsides of the thighs. This stabilises the results of surgery, prevent “wave formation” and reliably reduce the formation of bruises and oedema.

Why is lipomed equipped with a comfort opening?The comfort opening enables the patient to go to the toilet without having to take the lipomed garment off each time. However, lipomed can also be supplied as made-to-measure without a comfort opening.

What are the indications for lipomed bra?lipomed bra is a compressive bra that is used after breast reduction or enlargement (augmentation).

What are the indications for lipomed belt?In combination with lipomed bra, lipomed belt prevents dislocation of the implants after breast augmentation.

What are the indications for lipomed shirt?lipomed shirt for men is used for compression after liposuction of the chest, abdomen, shoulders and arms.

lipomed has been created to achieve the medically required compression pressure of 20 – 30 mmHg over the site of the operation. This assumes that the size has been measured correctly. The post-operative circumferences must be measured at predefined places to make allowance for the patient’s individual anatomical features. When taking the measurements the measuring tape must be pulled tight but not so tight that it “digs in” to the fatty tissue that is to be removed.

How do I measure the circumferences? (cN - cG)• Circumference below the bust (cN)

Take this measurement horizontally around the body about 1 to 3 cm below the base of the breast.

• Circumference waist (cM) Take this measurement at the narrowest point above the hip bones.

• Circumference hip/bottom (cL) Measure the hip circumference horizontally above the hip bone, the pubic bone and the buttocks (widest part).

• Circumference thigh (cG) Measure the circumference of the thigh about 5 cm below the groin.

How do I measure the circumferences? (cF - cB)• Circumference mid-thigh (cF)

Measure circumference F in the middle between the patella and the groin.

• Circumference below knee (cD) Measure the circumference below the knee about 5 cm below the patella.

• Circumference ankle (cB) Measure the ankle size at the narrowest part of the leg above the ankles.

How do I measure the lengths?• Leg length

The leg length is needed for the models requiring B-M (waist to ankle) and B-N (below bust to ankle) and for all made-to-measure garments measuring from the middle of the groin down to the desired leg length. You can only specify the predefined points i.e. thigh (lG), mid-thigh (lF), below knee (lD) and ankle (lB) as leg lengths.

• Length of the abdomen (trunk length) The length of the abdomen must also be given for made-to-measure garments. The length of the abdomen is measured down the front of the abdomen. This defines the length between the middle of the groin and the desired height. Only the predefined points of the waist (lM) and below bust (lN) can be given for the length of the abdomen.

Important

If the measured circumferences of the two legs differ by more than 2 cm, give the larger figure.
