2-Stage Helical-BevelSpeed Reducers92.1 and 93.1 Helical Bevel Gear UnitsNORD’s redesigned 2-stage right-angle helical-bevel gear units provide superior performance in a compact, 97% efficient modular design. UNICASE® housings are manufactured to precision from high-strength corrosion- resistant aluminum alloy and are designed using the latest in FEM (Finite Element Modeling) technology. These advanced technologies coupled with NORD’s state-of the art premium efficient, high quality gearing ensure years of trouble free operation. A variety of mounting options, output shaft configurations, and flexible input options ensure application adaptability.

NORD’s 2-stage helical-bevel gear units feature the SK 92.1 and SK 93.1 series with identical product range but varied housing designs. The 92.1 Series is characterized by our universal housing offering both mounting feet and a B14 flange face on both sides. The 93.1 housing is an easy to clean, smooth body design with a B14 flange face on both sides. Tapped foot holes are optional. Each series includes 5 sizes ranging in torque capacity from 797 to 5,841 lb-in. NORD’s ability to provide a large ratio per gear stage provides an exceptional range from 3.58:1 to 70:1.

Large oversized output bearings facilitate quick assembly, provide large bore capacities, high radial load capacity and extended life. In addition, NORD offers a foot-plate kit for both housing designs to easily retrofit industry standard single-reduction worm gear units. A variety of paint options and protective surface treatments are optional with both housing designs. With its smooth bodied design, the 93.1 series gear units are also available with the NSDtupH Sealed Surface Conversion System which is the ideal package for wet applications or environments involving chemicals used for sanitation and cleanliness.

UNICASE® One Piece HousingNORD heavy-duty, one-piece housings are precisely machined to exacting standards. Internal reinforcements further increase strength and rigidity. All bearings and seal seats are contained within the casting, eliminating splits or bolt-on carriers that can weaken the housing and allow oil leakage. Bores and mounting faces are machined in one step, producing extremely precise toler-ances — thus ensuring accurate positioning of gear teeth, bearings and seals, and longer life for all components.

Oversized Output Shaft BearingsNORD modular worm gear units are designed with over-sized output bearings. Bearing sizes are significantly larg-er than required to absorb the internal forces within the gear unit. As a by-product of the larger bearings, the inter-nal shaft diameters increase, resulting in increased shaft strength and durability as well as larger hollow-shaft bore capacities. Oversized Output Shaft BearingsNORD modular worm gear units are designed with over-sized output bearings. Bearing sizes are significantly larg-er than required to absorb the internal forces within the gear unit. As a by-product of the larger bearings, the inter-nal shaft diameters increase, resulting in increased shaft strength and durability as well as larger hollow-shaft bore capacities. UNICASE® One Piece HousingNORD heavy-duty, one-piece housings are precisely machined to exacting standards. Internal reinforcements further increase strength and rigidity. All bearings and seal seats are contained within the casting, eliminating splits or bolt-on carriers that can weaken the housing and allow oil leakage. Bores and mounting faces are machined in one step, producing extremely precise toler-ances — thus ensuring accurate positioning of gear teeth, bearings and seals, and longer life for all components.

2-Stage Helical-BevelSpeed Reducers92.1 and 93.1 Helical Bevel Gear UnitsNORD’s redesigned 2-stage right-angle helical-bevel gear units provide superior performance in a compact, 97% efficient modular design. UNICASE® housings are manufactured to precision from high-strength corrosion- resistant aluminum alloy and are designed using the latest in FEM (Finite Element Modeling) technology. These advanced technologies coupled with NORD’s state-of the art premium efficient, high quality gearing ensure years of trouble free operation. A variety of mounting options, output shaft configurations, and flexible input options ensure application adaptability.

NORD’s 2-stage helical-bevel gear units feature the SK 92.1 and SK 93.1 series with identical product range but varied housing designs. The 92.1 Series is characterized by our universal housing offering both mounting feet and a B14 flange face on both sides. The 93.1 housing is an easy to clean, smooth body design with a B14 flange face on both sides. Tapped foot holes are optional. Each series includes 5 sizes ranging in torque capacity from 797 to 5,841 lb-in. NORD’s ability to provide a large ratio per gear stage provides an exceptional range from 3.58:1 to 70:1.

Large oversized output bearings facilitate quick assembly, provide large bore capacities, high radial load capacity and extended life. In addition, NORD offers a foot-plate kit for both housing designs to easily retrofit industry standard single-reduction worm gear units. A variety of paint options and protective surface treatments are optional with both housing designs. With its smooth bodied design, the 93.1 series gear units are also available with the NSDtupH Sealed Surface Conversion System which is the ideal package for wet applications or environments involving chemicals used for sanitation and cleanliness.
