The Integrated Casting and Rolling Facility at OMK’s Vyksa plant is the country’s only casting and rolling facility combining unique technology with efficiency. Its process setup enables it to make the most sophisticated and high-performance steels. Wide Plate Mill 5000

OMK commissioned Wide Plate Mill 5000 in 2011. It is the most powerful and advanced plate mill in Russia.WPM 5000 uses the most powerful stand in the world that can generate a force of 12,000 tons helping create next-generation high-strength and low-temperature steels. The facility’s key unique feature is the special twin sprayer and lamellar flow controlled in-line cooling system.By using high-precision thermomechanical processing, the system produces plates that have a uniform properties and macrostructure along their entire length and width. The system’s innovative capabilities are especially useful when making plates from the most sophisticated steels. Systems for plate profile and flatness control as well as flatteners help produce plate with a highly accurate geometry.

Large-Diameter Pipe

In the large-diameter segment, OMK manufactures longitudinally submerged arc-welded expanded steel pipe, submerged welded, with diameters of between 508 and 1,422 mm and gage of between 8.0 and 48 mm.The pipes are produced by two separate lines with different processes; UOE (Pipe Mill 1020) and JCOE (Pipe Mill 1420). Pipes can be manufactured with both one and two longitudinal welds.

UOE Line (Pipe Mill 1020): manufactures pipes of diameters between 508 and 1,067 mm and wall gages of between 8,0 and 32 mm of strength class К65, grade up to X80. Operating Pressure: up to 32.0 MPa.Design Capacity: 1,012,000 metric tons of pipe a year.

Oil and Gas Line Pipe

Oil and gas line pipe with ODs of 89–530 mm and wall gage between 4.0 and 12.7 mm is used to build oil and gas, process, and in-field lines as well as water supply and heating systems.

The pipes are manufactured using electrical resistance welding from different steel grades ranging from K34 to K60 (up to X70), including corrosion and low temperature resistant of a guaranteed level of quality.In the course of manufacture, electrically welded pipes undergo multi-phase non-destructive testing, mechanical acceptance testing for the base metal and the weld as well as 100% hydrostatic inspection. All the pipes are delivered heat treated, i. e. seam annealed and/or full-body heat treated.

The pipes are delivered OD and ID scarfed. Delivery is by wagon load as well as in small batches (by truck). The outside surface of pipes can be protected with a weather coating (upon request).

Casing

• Each joint undergoes complete automated weld and whole-body ultrasonic inspectionand hydrotesting.

• The weld is subjected to annealing and has the same strength as the rest of the of the pipe body.

• High grade material undergoes whole-body heat treatment.

• The outside surface of casing is protected with a weather coating (upon request).

Electrically resistance-welded casing with an OD range from 102 to 426 mm and a wall gage of up to 12.7 mm, threaded and coupled, is used to construct oil, gas condensate, and gas wells both under ordinary conditions as well in complex geology producing high collapse loads in the pipe body.

• All joints are color-coded and die-stamped as per the requirements of current standards and regulations.

• Casing is delivered with protective covers for pin and box end threads.

• With manufacturer approval, we are able to deliver casing with custom thread as per API Spec 5CT.

• Upon request, we are able to deliver casing with tapered-bevel couplings to improve the friction coefficient as the casing string is being drawn through the annular space.

• Material with ODs ranging from 102 to 114 mm is only available with two types of thread (Buttress and OTTM) and a wall gage of up to 10 mm.

OD Corrosion CoatingDesigned to protect the surface of steel oil and gas mains and in-field lines, lines at compressor, city gate, and pumping stations.

ID CoatingAn ID anti-corrosion coating protects from corrosion the ID surfaces of oil, refined product, auxiliary pipelines and tubing at oil production facilities as well as utility lines carrying process and potable water.ID flow coating reduces the flow resistance of gas lines and protects their internal surfaces from atmospheric corrosion in transit, storage as well as during construction and assembly.Manufacturing capabilities enable the application of ID coatings of the following types:• ID corrosion coatings for diameters ranging from 60 to 1,422 mm;• ID flow coatings for diameters ranging from 508 to 1,422 mm.

Polyurethane Foam Heat InsulationOMK’s Vyksa Facility manufactures pre-insulated pipes with factory-applied insulation design for both buried and surface oil and gas mains and process lines as well as municipal heating networks. Pre-insulated pipe is a package made up of steel pipe, an OD and ID corrosion coating, a layer of PU foam insulation, and an outside protective shell.Optionally, the pipe can be equipped with heat tracers (skin systems) and fire inserts. An insulation coating makes pipelines more reliable by protecting the media they carry from freezing temperatures, reduces heat loss, and prevents the thawing of soil which is especially useful in the Extreme North and the vicinity.
