In the automotive assembly we see an increase of tight- ening applications using angle controlled processes. The use of angle controlled tighten- ing processes provide the ad- vantage of reducing the impact of many friction factors on the clamp force. In applications involving hand tools the movement of the tool by the worker (e.g. torque reaction) is influencing the angle value at the tightening joint, thereby influencing the results for the angle values with angle as a target function in the pa- rameter settings. This movement of the tool has a nega- tive influence on the clamp force result on the joint. The new ErgoSpin hand tools from Rexroth utilize multi axis sensors from the Bosch Sensortec GmbH, which continuously measure the movement of the tool by the worker. With the help of this measurement the influence of the tool movement on the angle result can be then be compensated. The installation or the use of additional supports structures or handles on hand tools can be eliminated in many cases. The angle compensation function is available in the Rexroth Tightening System 350 from version V2.500. The angle compensation function is activated via an USB license stick. The license stick must be inserted in the appro- priate control unit in order to execute the func- tion. Free-of-charge demo period: The angle compensation function can be tested for a maximum period of 30 days without a license. This may only be activated once for each channel on each controller. Please note that the angle compensation function can only be used from CPU version 02.xx.xxx. This ver- sion has been delivered since mid-2012. The BS350 operating system is available in the new version V2.500 for Rexroth tightening technology. This version entails numerous extensions to complement our all-in-one package.

Angle compensation for ErgoSpin

All new ErgoSpin handheld nutrunners now come with

built in motion sensors. Thanks to these new sensors, it

is possible to use the new true angle compensation func-

tion. The use of this function requires the purchase of a

license stick, which is hereby released for sale.

In the automotive assembly we see an increase of tight-

ening applications using angle controlled processes. The

use of angle controlled tighten-

ing processes provide the ad-

vantage of reducing the impact

of many friction factors on the

clamp force. In applications

involving hand tools the

movement of the tool by the

worker (e.g. torque reaction) is

influencing the angle value at

the tightening joint, thereby

influencing the results for the

angle values with angle as a target function in the pa-

rameter settings. This movement of the tool has a nega-

tive influence on the clamp force result on the joint.

The new ErgoSpin hand tools from Rexroth utilize multi

axis sensors from the Bosch Sensortec GmbH, which

continuously measure the movement of the tool by the

worker. With the help of this measurement the influence

of the tool movement on the angle result can be then be

compensated. The installation or the use of additional

supports structures or handles on hand tools can be

eliminated in many cases.

The angle compensation function is available in

the Rexroth Tightening System 350 from version

V2.500.

The angle compensation function is activated via

an USB license stick.

The license stick must be inserted in the appro-

priate control unit in order to execute the func-

tion.

Free-of-charge demo period:

The angle compensation function can be tested for a

maximum period of 30 days without a license. This

may only be activated once for each channel on each

controller.

Please note that the angle compensation function can

only be used from CPU version 02.xx.xxx. This ver-

sion has been delivered since mid-2012.

Fieldbus connection with EtherCat This communication

module for EtherCAT

IMecat enables a con-

nection of automation

devices to EtherCAT

networks via the Any-

bus CompactCom host interface. Automation devices

that support this interface can use all functions of the

EtherCAT module and be seamlessly integrated in

EtherCAT networks.

ProfiNet 2-port

From version V2.500, the

ProfiNet 2-port module

with integrated switch is

supported. This ready-to-

install 2-port module for

ProfiNet IO with integrated

switch enables real-time

communication in star, line, or bus topologies without an

additional external switch. The communication module

complies with conformity class B from ProfiNet IO and

offers a range of new functions, such as network man-

agement (SNMP) for improved diagnosis, topology

recognition (LLDP) for simple maintenance, fast com-

missioning of complex applications, and fast start-up.

Job functionality for tightening controller

SE352 The job function enables simple

automated processes for tightening

programs without the use of a PLC.

Parameterization of the job function

is done graphically in the following

steps. This function makes it possi-

ble to also use the job function from

our Compact System CS351 with

the ErgoSpin hand-held nutrunner in

a modular system on a tightening

controller SE352x.

IPM Telegram V5

As a part of our continual further development, Ver-

sion V5 of the Rexroth IPM protocol has been imple-

mented. The IPM protocol ena-

bles a link with the process data

management from CSP.

Display of graph memory / results memory in Compact System CS351x-Gxx

The diagnostic function has been substantially ex-

panded in the Compact System CS351 with integrat-

ed graphic display. Now it is possible to access all

graphs in the internal graph memory (up to max. 150

graphs each with 500 measuring points). The results

data (up to 30,000 results data records) of the internal

results memory can now be displayed on the screen.

HTTP data output to Process Quality Manager

The configuration of the data output to the Process

Quality Manager is now done using the BS350 oper-

ating program. The parameters for data output of the

json results data files can be specified under System

Tightening cell data http. In addition to channel

information and results data, the json results data file

also contains the tightening graph.

Please note:

The software version BS350 is not yet compatible with the Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 in combination with the

USB-interface. Communication must either be established directly via the network or via an Ethernet Point-to-

Point connection. The availability of the USB driver for Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 is expected to be available from

November 2017.

Further information can be found in the current project planning. The current version of the documentation can be

found in the media directory: http://www.boschrexroth.com/mediadirectory.
