NOTES1. Do not scale. Do not use for construction unless certified.

Dimensions symmetrical around C except as shown.

2. Overall dimensions shown do not include external piping. Pipingclearances must be provided as required. Service clearance mustbe provided as follows: 2 ft. at rear and overhead, 3 ft. at front. Ifa clear space is not available at one end for compressor removal,allow a minimum clearance width (at unit front or rear) of 3'�9".Tube removal space as shown in Fig. 33-36 (pages 58-61) mustbe provided at either end.

3. No special foundation required. Floor must be flat and levelwithin 1/4", capable of carrying the operating weight shownon pages 14-17 (See Note 11).

4. Dimension �B� is height of factory assembled unit � add 6" forshipping skids (optional at extra cost). Add 400 lbs. to shippingweight for skids.

5. Standard 150# water nozzles are furnished as weldingstubouts with grooves, allowing the option of welding, flanges,or use of Victaulic couplings. Standard 300# water nozzlesare furnished with raised-face flanges. Refer to Figs. 8 thru27 for nozzle arrangements.

6. Factory insulation of cooler surface is optional. Factory insula-tion does not include cooler water boxes. Insulation of boxesmust allow for removal. Add 125 lbs. for factory insulation.

7. For flanged (optional 150#) water nozzles on compact waterboxes, add 1" to overall length of unit when nozzles are on bothends of unit. For flanged water nozzles on one end only, add 1/2"to overall length.

8. Connected piping should allow for removal of compact waterboxes for tube access and cleaning.

9. The relief connections (See Figs. 5 & 6) should be ventedoutside the building by means of a properly sized line in accor-dance with �Safety Code for Mechanical Refrigeration�, ANSI /ASHRAE 15, and other applicable codes for personal safety.

10. WEIGHTS (See Pages 14-17). Weights for J Compressor Units(Table 2) for Shell Codes G-G through T-T are based on J1/J2Compressors. Add 1,000 lb. (454 kg.) to Shipping Weight andOperating Weight, and 250 lb. (113 kg) to Loading Per Isolatorif J3/J4 Compressor is furnished. Weight for Shell Codes T-Vthrough W-V are based on J3/J4 Compressors.

A. Shipping Weights � Indicates heaviest single piece ofequipment to rig.

Weights include control center, oil charge and isolatorpads.

Weights shown DO NOT include:

11. ISOLATORS

A. Standard unit is provided with neoprene vibration isola-tor mounts (shims for leveling by others). Add 7/8" (22mm) to unit height for neoprene mounts to obtain installedheight � see Figs. 28 or 29 (Pages 52 or 53).

B. When neoprene isolators are ordered, mounting platesare factory installed as shown in Figs. 28 or 29. Neo-prene isolator pads are field installed between foot sup-port and floor.

C. For a given unit, all four neoprene isolator pads are iden-tical. Pads are 1" (25 mm) thick with nominal 0.15" (4 mm)static deflection. Floor contact dimension depends uponoperating weight; determine unit operating weight (SeeNote 10B) and refer to Figs. 28 or 29 for pad size.

D. All units for upper floor location require optional level-adjusting spring type vibration isolators and brackets;add 1" (25 mm) to unit height for spring isolator mounts toobtain installed height. Refer to Figs. 30 or 31 (Pages 54or 55) for spring isolator mounts.

E. If optional level-adjusting spring type vibration isolatorsare to be applied see �Floor Layout � Spring Isolators�,Figs. 30 or 31.

F. When spring isolators are ordered, mounting bracketsare factory installed as shown in Figs. 30 or 31.

12. 7/8" diameter knockouts are located on the top cover for leadholes of the Solid State Starter (when furnished) for field powerwiring conduit (flexible) connections (holes to be sized andcut by others).

13. 7/8" diameter knockouts are located in removable plate on topof the Variable Speed Drive for lead holes for power wiringconduit. Plate will accommodate one or two 3" conduits, or amaximum of three 2-1/2" or smaller conduits. Holes to be sizedand cut by others.

NOTES:1. Standard water nozzles are furnished as welding stub-outs with Victaulic grooves, allowing the option of welding, flanges, or use of

Victaulic couplings. Factory installed, class 150 (ANSI B16.5, round slip-on, forged carbon steel with 1/16" raised face), water flangednozzles are optional. Companion flanges, nuts, bolts, and gaskets are not furnished.
