Once I have scanned in your sketch…

Go to the file folder at the bottom of the screen then…

This PC > Share (S:) > High School > Dopico > FIMAShoes

Click and drag your drawing into an open Adobe Illustrator file11x 8.5 inches

Make a new layer on top of your sketch.

Lock the layer that has your sketch.

Using the PEN TOOL start drawing your design. Make each shape complete.

Black stroke no fill.

Fill in each shape with your desired colors. Select using the selection tool and fill using the Color Panel and the eyedropper.

Add textured effects to shapes by selecting the shape then

Effect> Effect Gallery

You are required to put at least ONE texture effect on your shoe.

You can also add effects by clicking

Effect> SVG Filters

Say you want to add a gradient to a shape. Select your shape and make sure the fill box is in front of the stroke box.

Window > Gradient

This opens the gradient panel.

Click and drag the gradient into the fill box in the Gradient panel.

Choose the gradient tool in the tool bar to change the direction of the gradient.

Add a color to your gradient by clicking and dragging a color from the color panel into the gradient bar.

To place some shapes in front of other shapes or behind others, select the shape and then right click on it.

Arrange > Send to Back etc…

You can also put all your shapes on separate layers.

When done, click and drag a box around the entire shoe.

Object > Group

This allows you to move the show around and make the whole thing bigger or smaller.

Select your grouped shoe.

Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow

Use the pen tool to add at least 3 call outs. Remember this is where you want the attention to go to or where you want to explain more about your design.

Using the text tool, add your text.

Use the top toolbar to change the font and size etc.

Add a background by using the rectangle tool and creating a rectangle that you will send to the back.

Make it any color that works for your design/ text

It can also be a gradient
