SDD can be used in multiple connection scenarios with either single or double knife plate connections, or in single and double shear applications.

Our unique washers are designed to be used in addition with the ASSY countersunk head fasteners in steel-to-wood connection systems. The use of washers can lead to more cost-effective connections, replacing custom milled holes in steel plates with simple punched holes while maintaining proper head bearing.

The 45° wedge washer is designed for elliptical, punched or machined holes, assisting in reducing steel plates thickness and thus, steel cost. The wedge washer is engineered to be used with our countersunk-head structural wood screws such as the ASSY ECOFAST and the ASSY VG CSK.

FT CONNECTORThe FT Connector is the composite solution for fastening pre-manufactured precast concrete-slabs to mass timber wall or floor elements. FT Connectors are used to achieve composite action between already cured precast concrete slabs and mass timber elements eliminating formwork and shoring, the 28 day curing period, and the concrete pumps on site. The pre-manufacturing process reduces on-site exposure to water and water caused staining on mass timber elements.

Shane Homes YMCA

Bow River Bridge

The Shane Homes YMCA provides a multipurpose community hub for all. Achieving the architect’s vision, this building features a massive 284,000 square feet roof structure composed of glulam beams that blend seamlessly with the surrounding foothills.

The Bow River pedestrian bridge has an impressive total span of 370 feet. The bridge’s main structure is composed of sleek twinned sets of glulam girders, creating a clear span of 263 feet over the Bow river.
