General Security Supplies

General purpose power supplies are used in awide variety of applications where additionalpower in a compact size is needed. Typicaluses are in CCTV, Security, and AccessControl systems that require power for mag-netic locks, heaters, blowers, cameras andother equipment combinations. These all areswitch-selectable 6/12/24 VDC, with filteredand electronically regulated output. They havebuilt-in chargers for sealed lead acid or geltype batteries with automatic switchover tostandby battery when AC power fails. Their ACinput and DC output LED indicators speedwiring diagnostics. They have circuit breakerbattery protection. They include battery leadsand mount with foam backed tape or optionalsnap track HST34.

HPL624 Linear Power Supply / Charger

The HPL624 converts low-voltage AC input into 6 VDC or

12 VDC @ 1.20A or 24 VDC @ 0.75A of continuous supply

current. AC and DC LEDs indicate status and speed

diagnostics.

HPL624-12C Power Supply / Charger

The HPL624-12C with enclosure converts 115 VAC input into 6 VDC or 12 VDC

@ 1.20A of continuous supply current. For convenient operation using line

power, this kit includes a HTP1640 plug-in transformer (for 12 VDC operation)

and a 12 V 5 Ah rechargeable battery.

HPS3 Power Supply / Charger

The HPS3 converts a low voltage AC input

into an output of 6, 12 or 24 VDC at 2.5A of continuous

HPFF8 / HPFF8CM / HPFF12 / HPFF12CM Fire Alarm Power Supplies and Communicators

The Honeywell HPFF8 and HPFF12 Series are Notification

Appliance Circuit (NAC) Expander Power Supplies extend

the power capabilities of existing NACs and provide

power for auxiliary devices. They connect to any 12 or 24V

Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP).

They provide regulated and filtered 24VDC power to four

NAC’s and an auxillary output. The NAC outputs are rated

at 3.0 amps each and the auxillary output is rated at 2.0 amps. These units have a

trouble memory feature that displays past troubles (by NAC) for rapid diagnostics.

Synchronization is built in for five appliance brands.

The wall mount units can accommodate up to two 18AH batteries. The CM versions

mount in Honeywell’s large equipment enclosure. Up to three HPFF12CM supplies

can be mounted in an EQBB-D4 (4 HPFF8CM’s).

In applications that have EOL values other than the

3.9k normally used with the HPFF12, a single resistor

matching the existing EOL can be used as a reference

for all the outputs, thus speeding up installation.

HPACM4 / HPACM8 Power Distribution BoardsThis distributes one 12 to 24 volt AC or DC input

over four or eight independently controlled class 2

power-limited outputs rated 2.5A per output. The

tacts. Activated by an open collector sink or normal-

ly-open dry trigger input from an Access System,

Card Reader, Keypad, Push Button, PIR, etc.

Outputs operate both fail-safe and fail-secure and

will power Mag Locks, Electric Strikes, Magnetic

Door Holders, etc. Powered by either one common source or by two independent

sources, one for board power and the other for accessory power. The FACP inter-

face can trigger emergency exit, monitoring, HVAC shutdown, elevator recall or

HPMOM6 Multiple Output Power Distribution ModuleThis multi-output power distribution module con-

verts one non-power limited 12VDC or 24VDC DC

voltage input to six power-limited outputs. Each

Installation Precautions Installation PrecautionsAdherence to these statements will aid in problem-free installation and enhance long-term reliability.

Warning: THese units should be installed by qualified service personnel and in accordance with the National ElectricalCode, as well as NFPA 72 and all applicable Local Regulations. Review the complete instruction book prior to startingthe installation.

Follow the instructions in all installation, operating, and programming manuals. These instructions must be followed toavoid damage tot he product and minimize hazard. Keep them in a safe place for periodic review. Operation and relia-bility depend upon proper installation by qualified personnel.

Disconnect AC power and batteries prior to servicing. Failure to do so can damage circuits. Fuses are one-time usedevices and must be replaced when they blow. For continued protection against risk of electric shock and fire hazard,replace all fuses with the same type and rating (see markings on the boards). Replace any fuse covers before energiz-ing.

Remove all electric assemblies prior to any drilling, filing, reaming, or punching of the enclosure. When possible, makeall cable entries from the sides or rear. Before making any modifications, verify that they will not interfere with battery,transformer, and printed circuit board location.

Verify that wire sizes are adequate to contain voltage drop in all circuits. Use 18 AWG or larger for all power connec-tions (Battery, DC output, AC input). Use 22 AWG to 18 AWG for power limited circuits (AC Fail/Low Battery signal).Assure proper output voltage by measurement before connecting devices. THis helps avoid potential damage. Keeppower limited wiring separate from non-proper limited wiring (115VAC / 60Hz Input, Battery Wires). Minimum .25” spac-ing must be provided. Use 75 C or higher rated UL insulated wire for connecting the unit tot he electrical mains.

Install this equipment in the proper environment. The useful life of the system’s standby batteries and the electroniccomponents may be adversely affected by extreme temperature ranges and humidity. Therefore, it is recommended thatthis system and all peripherals be installed in an environment with a normal room temperature of 15-27° C/60-80° F. Toreduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose to rain to excessive moisture. Do not block any ventilation open-ings. Upon completion of wiring, secure enclosure door with screws (supplied) or a key lock. Installation hardware andmethod must be adequate to support the weight of the unit and foreseeable mechanical loadings. CLean only with a drycloth.

Tighten screw terminals adequately, but not more than 9 in-ils. Over-tightening may damage threads, resulting inreduced terminal contact pressure and difficulty with screw terminal removal. Use only accessories and replacementparts specified by the manufacturer.

Like all solid state electronic devices, this system may operate erratically or can be damaged when subjected to light-ning-induced transients. Although no system is completely immune from lightning transients and interfaces, propergrounding and use of surge suppressive devices will reduce susceptibility. Consult the Technical Services Departmentshould problems be anticipated or encountered.

Though designed to last many years, system components can fail at any time. This system contains static-sensitivecomponents. Always ground yourself with a proper wrist strap before handling any circuits so that static charges areremoved from the body. Use static-suppressive packing to protect electronic assemblies removed from the unit.

MaintenanceUnits should be inspected at least once per year for proper operation as follows:Output Voltage Test: Under normal load conditions, the DC output voltage should be checked for proper voltage level.Battery Test: Under normal load conditions check that the battery is fully charged and check specified voltage at thebattery terminals and at the board terminals marked [+ BAT--] to insure that there is no break in the battery connectionwires. Expected battery life is 5 years, however it is recommended to change batteries within 4 years or less, or as nec-essary.

Product Warranty PolicyLifetime Warranty – Security and Access Control ProductsHoneywell Power Products warrants to the original purchaser that all products shall be free from defects in material orworkmanship at the time of shipment. Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of products thatare defective in material or workmanship at the time of shipment, providing they were used within the specified ratings andinstalled in accordance with good engineering practice, and providing said products are proved by our examination to bedefective and returned to us transportation prepaid. Honeywell Power Products disclaim any and all other warranties; eitherexpressed or implied, and specifically disclaims any liability for indirect exemplary or consequential damage. This warrantydoes not extend to any of our products which have been subject to misuse, neglect, accident, improper application orinstallation, nor shall it extend to material which has been altered or repaired outside manufacturer’s factory. Batteries andtransformers not covered under this warranty.

Limited Warranty – Fire ProductsSubject to the limitations set forth herein, Manufacturer warrants that the Products manufactured by it in its Northford,Connecticut facility and sold by it to its authorized Distributors shall be free, under normal use and service, from defects inmaterial and workmanship for a period of thirty six months (36) months from the date of manufacture (effective Jan. 1,2009). The Products manufactured and sold by Manufacturer are date stamped at the time of production. Manufacturerdoes not warrant Products that are not manufactured by it in its Northford, Connecticut facility but assigns to its Distributor,to the extent possible, any warranty offered by the manufacturer of such product. This warranty shall be void if a Product isaltered, serviced or repaired by anyone other than Manufacturer or its authorized Distributors. This warranty shall also bevoid if there is a failure to maintain the Products and the systems in which they operate in proper working conditions.

MANUFACTURER MAKES NO FURTHER WARRANTIES, AND DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES,EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS, TRADEMARKS, PROGRAMS AND SERVIC-ES RENDERED BY MANUFACTURER INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION,INFRINGEMENT, TITLE, MERCHANTABILI-TY, OR FITNESS FOR ANYPARTICULAR PURPOSE. MANUFACTURER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY PERSON-AL INJURY OR DEATH WHICH MAY ARISE IN THE COURSE OF, OR AS A RESULT OF, PERSONAL, COMMERCIALOR INDUSTRIAL USES OF ITS PRODUCTS.

This document constitutes the only warranty made by Manufacturer with respect to its products and replaces all previouswarranties and is the only warranty made by Manufacturer. No increase or alteration, written or verbal, of the obligation ofthis warranty is authorized. Manufacturer does not represent that its products will prevent any loss by fire or otherwise.

Warranty Claims: Manufacturer shall replace or repair, at Manufacturer's discretion, each part returned by its authorizedDistributor and acknowledged by Manufacturer to be defective, provided that such part shall have been returned toManufacturer with all charges prepaid and the authorized Distributor has completed Manufacturer's Return MaterialAuthorization form. The replacement part shall come from Manufacturer's stock and may be new or refurbished. THEFOREGOING IS DISTRIBUTOR'S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IN THE EVENT OF A WARRANTY CLAIM.
