Facts about Vintage IronworksCustom Iron Entry Units

o Certified by NAMI and Impact Approved by the Florida Building Commission, #11212.1, #11212.2 Miami-Dade NOA approval # 08-0807.22, #08-0807.21 for Impact and HVHZ applications

o Each entry unit comes with a Transferable Limited Lifetime Warranty.

o Our door units are hand-forged and custom made, manufactured with 14-gauge iron.

o The door frame and the door panels are insulated.

o Door thickness: 1 ½”.

o Door frames are 1 ½” wide x 6” deep. The frames can be made to other specifications.

o Wrought iron of 5/8” is used in the scroll design. Depending on intricacy of the design, other thickness’can be used.

o Tempered glass is used on all door units for safety measures (at least 3/8” thick), and is included in the price. Other glass options are available to meet customer’s needs, including impact applications.

o Standard hardware specification is: 2 1/8" boring, 2 3/8" backset, 5 ½" center to center.

o We are a Baldwin and Emtek hardware dealer and can assist you in your options. Hardware of your choice must be known, so we can bore the correct holes. Templates need to be provided if specifications are different than the standard. Custom Iron Pulls are also available.

o The door units are made as a pre-hung unit with a custom made iron frame. It supports the weight of the doors and allows for ease of installation.

o Extension flush bolts are used on double door units. The flush bolt is the mechanism that locks the passive door of a double door unit. One flush bolt locks into the top of the doorframe and the bottom flush bolt locks into the threshold/floor.

o Pemko weather stripping are used around the door frame and the glass frame (if door has operable glass panels) making the door weather tight.

o There are two options on the swing of the doors: in-swing or out-swing. Both configurations have product certification.

o Weight will vary depending on measurements and design. A 3' wide by 8' tall door weighs approximately 220 lbs.

o Various paint colors and finishes are available. Because the doors are hand painted, slight variations in the colors may occur.

o Pricing is determined by size of unit and type of design selected.

o Production times vary and will be provided by your dealer upon placing the order.

These door systems are manufactured to-gether and are delivered/installed as a pre-hung unit for consistency in tolerances from manufacturing to finalapplication. We have engineered several features uncommon to the iron entry door manufacturing market includ-ing a double sealing astragal system and solid steel flush bolt locking mechanisms. Additionally, each ball bearing,stainless steel pin barrel hinge utilized is made of iron and welded into place for increased durability and strength.

*These units are certified for impact resistance, positive and negative design pressures (+80 psf/-80 psf, equivalentto approx. 217+ mph wind load), water resistance as well as forced entry resistance and provide the strength foryour peace of mind.
