Phoenix Safe International LLCPhoenix Safe distributes a full line of safes and files that provide fire resistance, security or both. The company has been trading in Liverpool since 1799, though not always under the Phoenix name. The company’s name in those early days was Richmond Manufacturing. At that time, we were maritime carpenters producing seaman chests, strongboxes and coffins for the merchant fleets sailing from Liverpool to America.

During the early 1800’s, steel-banded wooden strongboxes gave way to solid steel construction. In 1824, Richmond was purchased by a Spanish Basque company and renamed Withy Grove Safe Co. At this time, in competition with such famous safe and lock masters as Chubb, Yale and Tann, we began to design, patent and manufacture special security safes with complex locking mechanisms.

The company continued to evolve over the years, and in 1984, Phoenix Safe Co. was formed to provide a single-source for locksmiths and safe dealers looking to purchase security products for resale. Phoenix Safe offers both personal and commercial safes and fire files that provide fire protection for paper records and valuables, fire protection for data records, burglary protection for records and valuables, and fire and burglary protection for paper records and valuables.

Phoenix depository safes are designed to protect money, where immediate security is required without unlocking the safe or requiring a cashier to hold keys.

Front loading models 991, 991E, 991T, 991TE, 992 and 992E are fitted with a special ®

Phoenix tilting baffle plate to ensure that the contents cannot be ‘fished out’.

Models 992 and 992E have separate lockable deposit chamber inside. ®

The top loading rotary models 994, 994E, 994T, 994TE, 995 and 995E have a rotating ®

drum which completely seals the safe after the goods or cash have been deposited.

The body is constructed with ¼" steel plate, with a door of ½" solid steel. The door is ®

further reinforced with hardened anti-drill plates over the locking area.

Large capacity drop area can accommodate money bags, envelopes, packages and ®

deposit capsules.

All cashier deposit safes are predrilled for bolting to the floor. ®

Models 991, 991T, 992, 994 and 994T are available with a dial combination lock. Model ®

995 is available with a dial combination lock on the top compartment and a high security key lock on the bottom compartment.

Solid one-piece steel outer body construction, recessed drawer ®

Key Operated Plunger Lock System secures all drawers for privacy. ®

Selective locking system permits locking of any combination of 1-4 drawers while leaving the balance unlocked when the lock is engaged.

Proprietary Styronite insulation provides superior protection during a ®

fire, allowing the files to earn the coveted and world recognized Class 350 - 1 hour fire certification by Europe's prestigious SP Institute.

Inner Steel Jacket surrounds each drawer, keeping insulation from ®

All drawers come equipped with integral rails for left to right filing of legal documents and cross rails for back to front filing of legal or letter size documents. The Phoenix “INTERLOCK” system allows only one lateral drawer to open at any time to prevent tipping. fire Test Standards

Each fire resistant model is independently

tested to a European or American test

standard for fire protection, and carries

certification labels from the testing agency as

to the product’s fire protection level.

Products for Storage of Paper Records: The

tests for products that are designed to protect

paper records range from 60 minutes to 120

minutes in furnace burn time, at temperatures

ranging from 1700° F to 1859° F. During

the fire test, the internal temperature of the

product is monitored to ensure that it does

not rise above a level that would endanger the

paper documents stored within the product.

The products that provide fire protection

for paper records are listed in this brochure

with the designation of “Class 350”. The

designation tag also indicates the length of

the fire test as “1 HR., 1½ HR. or 2 HR.” and

is located next to each model number.

The tests for products that are designed

to protect computer media range from 60

mTC — grade B rating

(also used throughout the brochure)

Certain types of computer media (CDs, DVDs,

USBs, and memory sticks) are less sensitive to

heat and humidity than tapes, cartridges, hard

drives, etc. These less-sensitive items can

be safely stored and protected inside some

products that are designed to protect paper

records. Products that carry the MTC - Grade

B rating have been tested and certified to

provide adequate protection for these items.

Products that are rated Class 125 are designed

to store and protect all types of computer

media, and should be used whenever the more

sensitive items need protection.
