—For your safety!
• Make sure that the installation room (spaces, divisions and ambient) is suitable for the electrical apparatus
• Check that all the installation, putting into service and maintenance operations are carried out by qualified personnel with suitable knowledge of the apparatus
• Make sure that the standard and legal prescriptions are complied with during installation, putting into service and maintenance, so that installations according to the rules of good working practice and safety in the work place are constructed
• Strictly follow the information given in this instruction manual
• Check that the rated performance of the apparatus is not exceeded during service
• Check that the personnel operating the apparatus have this instruction manual to hand as well as the necessary information for correct intervention
• Pay special attention to the danger notes indicated in the manual by the following symbol
All the installation, putting into service, running and maintenance operations must be carried out by skilled personnel with in-depth knowledge of the apparatus.
4 SVIT ISOLATED TRUCK PRODUCT BROCHURE
—1 Summary
1.1 GeneralSVIT isolated truck is suitable for the indoor air- insulated withdrawable version switchgear, for the main circuit without load transfer, as well as the isolation for electrical equipment with chared lines, for example, main bus bar, circuit breaker, etc.
These trucks allow the top contacts to be connected directly to the bottom ones, connection is made extremely safe and reliable by using the "pole" type to insulate the connection busbars from the external environment.
In the incoming/outgoing units, the isolated truck connects the main busbar system to the power cables, whereas in the bus-tie units, it connects the two sides of the bus bar system.
1.2 Standards and specification1.2.1 StandardsThe SVIT isolated trucks conform to the specifications of the following standards.• GB/T 11022, common technical requirements
of high-voltage switchgear and control equipment
• IEC 60694 and VDE 0670 part 1000, common specifications for high-voltage switchgear and control gear standards
• GB/T 1985, high-voltage AC isolated switch and earthing switch
• IEC 62271-102 and DIN VDE 0671 part 102, common alternating current disconnectors and earthing switches
1.2.2 Installation and operatingThe relevant standards and specifications shall be considered and complied, in particular:• IEC 61936 and DIN VDE 0101, power installations
exceeding 1 kV a.c.• Safety and accident prevention regulations
published by professional groups or organizations• Related safety guidelines of auxiliary materials
and operational tools• Safety regulations of ABB Xiamen switchgear
Co., Ltd.
1.3 Operating conditions1.3.1 Normal service condition• Ambient temperature
- Max temperature +40°- Average maximum over 24 hours +35° - Min temperature -15°
• Humidity- The average relative humidity measured for
a period longer than 24 must not exceed the 95%
- The average value of the pressure of the water vapor, measured for a period longer than 24 hours, must not exceed 2.2 kPa
- The average value of the relative humidity, measured for a period longer than 1 month, must not exceed the 90%
- The average value of the pressure of the water vapor, measured for a period longer than 1 month, must not exceed 1.8 kPa
• Altitude: ≤1000 m
• Atmospheric environmentAmbient air should not be obviously polluted by the dust, smoke, corrosive or flammable gas, vapor, spray.
1.3.2 Special service conditions• Installation above 1000 m altitude
Possible within the limits allowed by reduction of the dielectric resistance of air
• Increase the air temperatureIn order to avoid the risk of corrosion or other damage in areas with high humidity and/or rapid large fluctuations in temperature, take appropriate measures (for example, using suitable electric heaters) to prevent any condensation phenomena. For special installation requirements or other operating conditions, please contact ABB.

5.1 General requirementsIsolated truck doesn't have the capability of on and off load current, therefore not allowed to rack in/out isolated truck with load.
5.2 Installation preparation• Clean the insulating parts with clean dry cloths• Check that the top and bottom terminals are
clean and free of any deformation caused by shocks received during transport or storage
5.3 Installation and Commissioning of switchgearApplicable switchgear types of isolated truck refer to section 2.2 content.
For rack in/out of the switchgear, fully insert the lever in the appropriate seat and work it clockwise for racking-in, and anticlockwise for racking-out, until the limit switch positions are reached.
Isolated truck racking-in/-out must be carried out gradually to avoid shocks which may deform the mechanical interlocks and the limit switches. If operations are prevented or difficult, do not force them, check that the operating sequence is correct and locking magnet on the truck (-RL2/-Y0) (if provided) is powered.
NoteTo complete the racking-in/out operation, about 20 rotations of the lever are required for isolated- trucks up to 12 kV and 40.5kV, and about 30 rotations for 24 kV isolated-trucks.
Isolated-trucks of the same type have the same dimension, as well as same earthing methods and installation position.
5.3.1 Motorized isolated truckMotorized isolated trucks rack into the pane, must take following inspection and test.• Cut down the power for the drive motor supply,
check whether the isolated truck is pushed in place, truck beam positioning interlocking piece whether into the slots on either side the corresponding switch cabinet, handle whether can move around flexible
• Turn the lever to the required position. Check whether there is truck wave into the binding,
truck and earthing knife, interlocking is reset• Check whether the motor power supply positive
and negative polarity is correct:a) Using manual handle isolated truck into the
middle position;b) Remove the manual handle;c) Connect the power;d) Through the switchgear electrical control
to operate and check its moving direction is correct.
If its moving direction is not correct, please quickly to cut off the dive motor power (usually by a limit switch to make its stop motion). To avoid personal injury, please shut the door.
Motorized truck operations• Activate the controls for electrical racking-in
and racking-out (the withdrawable isolated truck traverses in the directions indicated by the controls)
• Check the position indicators
NoteIf the motor failure or burned, can be switch to manual mode to rock the isolated truck into service position or test isolated position, should be cut down the power of electric locking truck drive motor. The conversion process from motorized to manual:• Disconnect the power• Insert the handle into the hole• Truck in service position: clockwise, rotation 45°
Truck in test position: counterclockwise, rotation 45° Truck in middle position: slight wobble around the handle
• For normal manual operation
Note: For the motorized truck, if by manual mode rock in/out the isolated truck, the signal correctly, in order to ensure its position auxiliary contacts must be rocked into the limit position.
• Isolated truck rock into the test position, should ensure that the screw head to figure a position counter-clockwise again after wave around 45°

Motor control protection device MDC2 can be configured to avoid various types of failures or burning, other choice of motor protection devices must be matched with the device and using same characteristics and replacement of spare parts, otherwise it may damage the electrical machine.
5.4 Connection of the auxiliary circuitsNote: the minimum cross-section of the wires used for the auxiliary circuits must not be less than the one used for the internal cabling. Furthermore, they must be insulated for 2 kV of test.
Isolated truck auxiliary circuit connection factory has passed the aviation plug lead.

Maintenance serves to ensure trouble-free operation and achive the longest possible working life of the switchgear.
The servicing intervals and scope are determined by environmental influences, and the rack in/out times, etc.
The isolated truck have a low maintenance requirement, only visual and function inspections are required.
• Visual inspection of poles to check for any contamination, corrosion, or traces of electrical discharge
• check the racking-in/out operation of the truck is normal or not, clean and smear lubricant
