PRODUCT ADVISORY NOTICE Australia has a wide range of automatic door suppliers, some manufactured in Australia and others imported, but all are required by Standards Australia to be NATA tested to the high rigors set out in AS 5007-clause 4.4.1.1 A NATA test report is your reassurance that the product you are purchasing has been independently tested to comply with clause 4.4.1.1 and 4.4.2 of Australian Standard 5007-2007 ‘Powered doors for pedestrian access and egress.’ The tests ensure verification and validation of high quality products – engineered to suit their stated maximum door weight, designed to operate under extreme temperature conditions and critically designed to open doors at this maximum door weight under (Sample AS5007/NATA testing report criteria next page). AS5007 – Clause 4.4.1.1a – minimum 1 million cycle endurance test AS5007– Clause 4.4.1.1b&c – minimum 1000 cycles at -15ºC & +50ºC AS5007 – Clause 4.4.2a – minimum 40 cycles when subjected to main power failure NATA-AS5007 testing thus creating the possibility of non conforming product being installed. AADIF (Australian Automatic Door Industry Forum) as an industry representative body recommends that all buyers ensure compliance with the NCC Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards by purchasing products with a NATA endorsed test report. Only buy automatic pedestrian doors that have been tested by a NATA accredited laboratory AS5007 clause 4.6 ‘Verification of compliance’ requires all powered door operators to be tested however unfortunately not all suppliers have submitted their products for accredited AS5007: Powered doors for pedestrian access and egress loss of power to allow safe egress/escape
