COURSE AIMS

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with specialization in Sofware Systems (BSCS-SS) is a four (4)-year trimestral undergraduate degree program that aims to educate students with the appropriate combination of theories, concepts and tools, carried out through the use of suitable methodology, human interaction and interface design, team managament, and set of systems management procedures. • SOFTWARE QUALITY MANAGEMENT - The processes, methods and techniques for developing quality software and how it is assessed and maintained, discussing how quality is integrated into the software development process by introducing formal review and inspection methods; principles of testing and test planning; module design for testability; and quality maintenance while supporting existing software. It covers selected techniques for specification-based (ex. Black-box) testing, tools, process and management issues.

• STRUCTUREDSYSTEMSANALYSISANDDESIGN1 - The second of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) series, this is the subsequent course to its prerequisite following the acceptance of the proposed academic client’s information system development project with the conceptual design submitted by the students grouped in teams at the onset of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The course discusses how information will be gathered, analyzed and designed to do data entry, storage, access, and updating for purposes of monitoring and reporting to its target user recipients. With the prevailing live case study, students are involved in pursuing a thorough computer-based information system for an organization with the end goal of enhancing efficiency in the client’s workplace.

It provides a structured approach in learning how data are to be managed with specific outputs and explains the various diagrams and charts used for programming and documentation.

• GAME THEORY - The study of game theory and game strategic thinking. Students will be introduced on the basic understanding of various game-theoretic concepts, set of principles, concepts and practices that lead to development of games. This course also deals with the conceptual basis on the study and analysis of games that relate to game audiences, game history, videogame history, gechnology / platform history, game criticism, and games for a variety of interactive purposes. Associate in Computer Technology (ACT) is developed in collaboration with the APC Center, an IBM Competency Center in IT committed to providing ICT-enabled solutions to achieving educational and professional goals.

With ACT you can earn an associate degree in less than two years and acquire IBM global certificates, thus giving you competitive skills needed by the industry.

It a suitable option to complete an education in less time and at a low cost. ACT graduates can also proceed to a 4-year degree program at APC.
