Thank you for purchasing Solid Apollo’s Waterproof 120V AC DMX to RGB Controller. It is a new standard in DMX to RGB 3 Channel DMX Interfaces.

If you currently have a DMX512 controller or any DMX capable control unit, this is the perfect device for controlling 120V LED RGB products like our RGB Neon LED and RGB Driverless LED Strip Lights. You may also easily daisy-chain multiple units for additional RGB Outputs.

The Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller converts DMX signals to RGB in a seamless and easy-to-use fashion. This second generation DMX-RGB controller has a 3-Digit LED Display which makes it simple to choose between DMX Control or Auto Program Feature.

The Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller is easy to install and will operate Solid Apollo’s Driverless RGB LED Strips or RGB Neon LED Strip Lights that work at line voltage of 120V AC. The Wiring Diagram below gives you an overview guide on how to correctly wire your Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller to each individual component. Flip to the next page as it will show you a more in-depth instructions how to operate in Auto Program and DMX Control mode.

The AC 100 - 240V INPUT comes ready to plug to any household outlets.

The DMX INPUT have a dual purpose: if you’re only using a single Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller you would use the DMX INPUT to connect your DMX512 Controller or your DMX capable control unit to control your LED RGB Lighting Fixture (As Shown in Pg.3 - DMX Control Mode). The second purpose would be for daisy-chaining to multiple Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller. Simply connect the DMX OUTPUT from the first controller to the DMX INPUT of the second controller (As Shown in Pg.3) . You would repeat these steps for additional controllers.

The DMX OUTPUT is used for daisy-chaining multiple Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller (As Shown in Pg.3).

The LED OUTPUT is where you hard-wire your 120V RGB LED lighting fixture. Please follow the color code as shown in Figure 2 and check that all wires from Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller and your 120V RGB LED lighting fixture are correctly wired respectively to each other.

*Please Note: In order for your RGB LED lighting fixture to have a full waterproof connection, you would have to install a heat shrink (not included) that goes over the RGB LED OUTPUT and RGB LED lighting fixture wires. Alternatively you can also use our RGB Outdoor Waterproof Connector (SKU: SA-LS-4-PIN-GLAND). We offer in-store installation should you need it. Please contact us for more information.

Auto Program (Mode)

The Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller is a multi-function controller. It has two primary functions that lets you choose between Auto Program Mode or DMX Control Mode:

The Auto Program function enables the Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller to run predefined internal programs if an external DMX Control system is not available. The Auto Program includes 9 Static Colors, 10 Speed Adjustments, 8 Brightness levels and 10 running programs - Chasing, Fading & Flashing.

It is also best used for testing to confirm if all systems and connections are working properly prior to installing extensive DMX Programs.

Auto Program (Mode)

Step 1: Selecting Auto Program (Mode)Press & hold buttons 1 & 2 together until “ “ flashes on the Digital Display, while it is still flashing press button 3 to choose between ru1 or ru2.

You want to choose “ “ for Auto Program mode.

After choosing ru1, press and hold any one of the buttons until the Digital Display stop flashing to confirm the setting. 1

Step 2: Choosing Programs to PlayOnce you are in Auto Program mode you will see a letter on the first digit of the Digital Display. When you keep pressing button 1, you will see the letters , , and (P, S, b and c). Each individual letter runs a set of different programs that will allow you to choose static colors, apply various effects, adjust speed on the chosen effect and brighten or dim that effect. The images and the description below will give you a brief description of each function.

Please Note: To access each individual program, you would just keep pressing button 1. And to change the effect or color of that specific program you would just keep pressing button 3.

P means Program. By pressing button 3 after each number, the third digit on the Digital Display will change from P-0 to P-9, enabling you to choose to play 10 running programs. Each number corresponds to different programs varying from flashing, fading and chasing.

S means Speed. By pressing button 3 after each number, the third digit on the Digital Display will change enabling you to adjust the speed of the running program. There are 10 speed adjustments, beginning from S - 0 to S - 9, the speed turns slower and slower. 9 being the slowest.

b means Brightness. By pressing button 3 after each number, the third digit on the Digital Display will change enabling you to brighten the running programs or static colors. There are 8 levels of brightness, beginning from b - 1 to b - 8, the brightness turns more and more bright each ascending number. 8 being the brightest.

c means Color. By pressing button 3 after each number, the third digit on the Digital Display will changel enabling you to go thru 9 Static Colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Teal, Blue, Pink and White. Beginning from c - 0 to c - 8, each ascending number changes the color.

Step 1: Selecting DMX ModePress & hold buttons 1 & 2 together until “ “ flashes on the Digital Display, while it is still flashing press button 3 to choose between ru1 or ru2.

You want to choose for DMX Control.

After choosing ru2, press and hold any one of the buttons until the Digital Display stop flashing to confirm the setting. 1 2 3

Step 2: Assigning a DMX AddressPress and hold any one of the buttons until the digital display flashes. Once it is done correctly you will now be able to set an address to the DMX-RGB Controller.

To select a DMX address for your controller, you can use Button 1 to select the hundreds value. By pressing button 1, you can change the first digit i.e. - 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 series of addresses. For example. If the address 318 is being displayed on your controller, by pressing the first button one time would then give a reading of 418.

In the same way you can change the hundreds digit for your DMX address using button one, you can also change the ten and single digit address numbers using the second and third buttons on your controller, respectively. To change the tens digit, simply press button 2. If the display has 112 displayed, pressing the second button once will show 122. Now, if the third button is pressed, the display will read 123.

* Note: If you are configuring more than one controller and the first unit is in 3-Channel Mode (RGB), it will use the first three available channels 1 thru 3, and its DMX address would then be 001; and if the second controller is another 3 Channel Mode, then its DMX address would be 004 (the next available channel) and its channel assignments would then be 4, 5 and 6 (three channels for RGB) - and so on. This way, the DMX software or DMX hardware-based signal controller knows exactly what number is assigned to a particular channel on a given fixture(s).

When you’re done setting up the addresses, press and hold any one of the buttons until the digital display stop flashing to confirm the setting.

You may also set DMX Channels by holding buttons 2 & 3 together until the digital display flashes. Press button 1 to choose from 1, 2 or 3 channel then hold any one of the buttons to confirm the setting.

3cH means the controller occupies 3 DMX addresses, usually for RGB LED Strip.

*Note: The factory default setting is DMX Control Mode - ru2, 3cH.

Technical Information

1. First check to make sure your DMX wires are connected to the DMX IN, and not to the DMX OUT ports on the left side of your controller. The DMX OUT ports do not receive signal and will not work as inputs from a DMX controller (Refer to the diagram on page 3).

2. Be sure the controller is set to the Correct 3-Channel operation based on your LED Lighting Fixture, and that you have correctly inputted the specified DMX address (Refer to page 5 for setting up DMX Address).

Troubleshooting

DMX signal not received

RGB LED Lights are not turning on when the Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller Receiver is plugged in.

1. Please revert back to the wiring diagram (Page 2) and check your wiring connection to see if the wires match their corresponding wire (positive to positive and negative to negative). If you have installed the RGB Outdoor Waterproof Connector, please make sure that the RGB wires are installed correctly onto their terminals and in relation to their corresponding wire.
