Transformation from HW to Software Impacts

▪ Service provider pressure to reduce cost and vendor competition is driving virtualization of function

▪ Vendors are providing their products in virtual form

▪ Service providers will face also new categories of Vendors besides traditional ones (Native NFV SW vendors, Open Source SW Vendors, SW co-developers (e.g. Vendor+ Service Providers)

▪ However what was once integrated, tested and under one SLA is now 4 different components

▪ Service providers are facing with an integration, quality , security and new commercial management challenges before they can realize the benefits of VNFs
