Market Summary

OTHERS (Mainly Africa and Asia)

• Different operators

• Big roll Outs in Africa and Asia (only India needs more175.000 Greenfield sites until 2010)

• Big Surfaces to cover Big Market to Greenfield Sites

• Vivo, Brazilian operator will transit from CDMA to GSA , this will need approximately 3 times more of sites in a quick roll out.

• Global Operators like Vodaphone, Telefonica, America Movil, Celtel, Orascom, etc, can save a lot of money with our FDS solution.

Civil Works Development

• Usually the Civil Works it’s 30% to 50% of the cost of a Network

• The “poor” parent was not developed and left as a not High Tech need

• Operators, Suppliers and Installers usually don’t have high expertise in Civil Works

• PROCONSULTORES have a very high know how in Concrete e Steel Structures

PROBLEMS• In not urban regions, the “sites” has to be installed in places of the difficult access (mountains usually). Huge difficulties come in obtain electric power for Transmission and Cooling Equipment • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance of “sites” is done with the teams displacement almost because of basic alarms like the high temperature of BTS, without knowing correctly the main reason of the failures.

SOLUTIONS• Put Solar Passive Solutions, like big thermal inertia, night cooling, earth cooling, évapotranspiration cooling, shadow, etc to arrive to a LOWER need of cooling • Electric supply with an Hybrid Solution of Photovoltaic panels, Fuel Cells and Wind Generators • Technical Management of ALL equipments with Remote Control to avoid unnecessary displacements

LPTLight Poststressed Tower

Solution in Study

PROBLEMS• Main problem in high towers is the rotation and deflection (twist and tilt) in the top, because of winds forces in the telecommunication antennas. To avoid this, the towers needs to have a increase of resistance and steel against natural steel elastic deformation.

SOLUTIONS• The use of high resistance steel cables poststressed, inside of the steel profiles of the tower, reduce the the weight of steel , and the price.

Page 15: Proconsultores Telecommunication Presentation

Our FDS Solution can be adapted to bigger Wind loads, bigger Antennas or others needs like Electric Generators, etc.

Our Engineering Department can customize a new standard for a client

PROCONSULTORES Fast Deployment Site Solution is patented with number PCT/PT05/000002

.The solution was developed because of the Customers growing needs in quick sites implementation.

Our FDS solution was developed for:

Towers up to 60m heightWind Speed and Antenna load

- Basic wind speed is 120 km/h- Survival wind speed is 160 km/h

All Towers were designed to the specified wind speed, limiting the deflection to 0.5° degrees (tilt and twist) under the basic wind speed (the deflection degree is illustrated)It was considered the wind load on Tower members, ladder, platforms, feeders, in addition to the following antenna loads with 10 m2 area at the top:- 06 GSM Antennas- 05 MW dishes Ø 1,20m- 12 Cables 7/8 on the Cable routing along the Tower

Fast Deployment Site Traditional Green Field3 days of Construction in Site (Antennas, Cables, Tower and civil works) => Invoice calls sooner, Earning more Money, Win Costumers from others Operators

3 to 4 weeks for Out => Loose calls, loose costumers to others competitors, Loose Money

Without foundations, No Digging needed => No extra cost, No extra time

Site construction Foundation necessary, Digging necessary Concrete Foundation subject to underground level and steel bars corrosion. => Extra Cost, Extra Delay

Concrete Base with high Corrosion Resistance, don’t subject to underground and surface water level All materials are prefabricated in the workshop, better Quality Control Control => Long Term Less Problems, Less Money for Maintenance

Metal Fondations subject to surface water and corrosionAll materials are fabricated in Site, more difficult quality control=> Greater Risk of Resistance complying, More Maintenance, More Cost

Fixed Cost Control => Better Financial Control Variable Cost Control=> Worst Financial Control

Easy to dismantle and relocate => Easy to Recycle Foundations and Towers, Environmental Friendly, Save Money in Network Optimisation

Impossible to remove and/or relocateUpgrade de height of the tower impossible, new foundation needed=> Concrete Recycling Impossible, Waste Money,

⇒Stock possible for a quick start⇒Better Response in unscheduled Business⇒ Need More Cash Flow

Stock impossible=> Slow Response in unscheduled Business=> Less Cash Flow Needed

The Concrete Base covers all the site with the minimum surface needed, 5mx7,2m, with only one step high of 0,2m from the ground => Cost Optimisation

The Foundation don’t cover all the site surface, base slab needed= > More Expensive

Towers upgrade from 25m up to 50m with same base Every tubes and infrastructures already included in the base=> Less Expensive

Every tubes and infrastructures have to be putted in a base slab= > More Expensive

Works on low bearing pressure ground (less than 0,1Mpa) => Less Expensive

A low bearing pressure ground needs a big and heavy foundation=> More Expensive

RISKS AND REWARDS

Risks (mainly in undeveloped countries)• Steel Tower Suppliers without delivery capacity for such tower amount in a short term period • Transport Companies (2 semi trailers for each site) don’t have enough trucks• A Cash Flow needed to face the 2 months in factory production before installing on-site

Rewards• Green Field sites in serial production• Faster Roll Out (minimum 70% less time), get costumers quicker• Better Quality of construction (Quality control in Factory)• Save/Earn Money with:

• Less Time to put network in the air, Quicker Invoicing• Less Time in construction, Less Cost in Supplier’s Teams, Less Risks• Better Quality, Less Long term Maintenance• Standard Solution, Standard Site Design, Standard As Builds drawings, etc• Better Financial Control• No surprise in Bad Soil in Foundations• Recycling Foundations and Towers in Network Optimization

Hybrid system incorporating a photovoltaic array and a diesel generator Hybrid Systems overview The main feature of a hybrid system is the use of two or more different energy sources. For so called

photovoltaic hybrid systems in the field of solar energy especially a diesel generator, a wind generator or a public grid can be used as an additional source of energy. The charge controller designed for hybrid systems manage the charge and discharge of the battery, and protect the loads from over voltage and low voltage as well.

A battery charger supplied trough the generator, charges the battery during night or when the power from the PV array is not enough because of low solar irradiation.

A electric generator working around 85% - 90% of its maximum capacity is desirable because it increases its efficiency and life as well. The true sine wave inverter assures that the AC loads gets power always according to the requirements of the system.

The advantage of photovoltaic hybrid systems is that the solar generator does not have to be oversized to supply the loads even during months with low solar irradiation. This saves a significant amount of the initial investment.

The solar produced power is always used primarily in the system. But in combination with the second energy source reliable AC and DC power is available day and night throughout the year. In systems that are already installed in the field (ex. Telecom sites in remote locations) and where the primary source of power is a fuel generator, a solution with PV modules could be a good one in order to low the costs regarding the maintenance and fuel cost of the fuel generator.

Monitorização Remota

O sistema de Monitorização Remota tem como objectivo primário dotar as operadoras de uma rede de Telecomunicações de infra-estruturas de telemetria e telegestão em tempo real, utilizando os recursos existentes (redes IP corporativas) ou meios de comunicação de custo reduzido (sistema DOV, GPRS ou SMS) reduzindo assim os custos de operação e manutenção directos e indirectos;

Este sistema tem como objectivo secundário integrar num só sistema todos equipamentos passíveis de monitorização e/ou controle remoto.
