Thoughts on Giving: “Do you think I have come to give you peace on Earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.” (Luke 12:51)

Living a stewardship lifestyle means stepping out of our comfort zone when needed. Many of us like to play it safe, not cause waves, stay in the middle of the road. In today’s world we are called to be informed and take a stance for life, marriage and religious liberty.

Stewardship Prayer: That we have the courage to step out of our comfort zone and stand up for life, marriage and religious liberty.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also ... run with

perseverance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1, NRSV). Inspired by this, Paul

Hammer writes in The Word Among Us: “In the Bible, faith is never a matter simply for

an isolated individual. It involves a community of persons that stretches back into the

past, embraces people in the present and anticipates a fellowship in the future. Faith

involves a ‘cloud of witnesses’ to God’s continuing faithfulness.
