Welcome Message from the General Co-Chairs

It is our great pleasure to have the 2015 International Symposium on Nonlinear Theory and Its Applications

(NOLTA) in Hong Kong. We believe that many of you are familiar with Hong Kong since it is the oldest trade port

of China connecting all countries over the world, a city in a mixed Oriental-European culture. You have probably

visited this attractive city before, remembering some cultural architecture and tourist enjoyments like Sik Sik Yuen

Wong Tai Sin Temple, the harbor view from Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, great Chinese cuisines, busy shopping

centers and street markets, and the million-dollar night view from Victoria Peak, and so on. It is noteworthy that

many academic activities on science and technology are taking place in this compact and integrated city every

year. The City University of Hong Kong, the venue provider for NOLTA2015, also supports a major part of such

activities, not to mention the fact that a dozen of researchers in Hong Kong are performing great works in nonlinear

science especially in nonlinear circuits and systems. All things considered, we are confident that Hong Kong is a

right place for the NOLTA symposium.

We would like to thank all participants for their contributions, both papers and presentations, and acknowledge

the symposium committee members for their time and efforts devoted to paper reviews, local arrangements, and

technical and social programs organization.

Finally, we expect that this symposium would further promote and encourage new research and development in

the nonlinear science and technology fields worldwide.

Technical Program Co-Chair’s Message

First of all, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all participants and authors of NOLTA 2015.

In the following, we summarize the special features of this year’s program.

• A total of 259 papers have been received and 243 papers have been included for presentation in the

technical program.

• A total of 57 oral sessions have been scheduled in the program.

• The technical program is also highlighted by 3 plenary sessions.

• As a NOLTA tradition, a number of special sessions have been organized by leading researchers in

their respective fields. The special session organizers have brought researchers in their specialized

fields to report their latest findings and at the same time foster new collaborations. We highly

appreciate the effort spent by the special session organizers as well as the special session papers

authors.

• Submissions for regular sessions have accounted for a quarter of all submissions.

• Among the 259 submissions, over 80 percent are from Asia. We are grateful to the support of Asian

researchers who have planned and eventually realized their visit to Hong Kong.

Finally, we wish to thank all members of our Technical Program Committee and all dedicated review-

ers for their professional support and contributions. Their expertise has been pivotal to the successful

realization of such a high-quality technical program for NOLTA 2015.
