Hastings Point Tweed Coast
Let‟s not forget our Probus motto
during this unusual time:
“Friendship, Fellowship and Fun”
. To help overcome our sense of isolation,
some of our members are having a PICNIC IN THE PARK, you are welcome
to join in. No booking required.
On Friday 28th August from 11.30am, we are going to meet at Ambrose Brown Park, Pottsville Beach in the pavilion. Please bring your own EVERYTHING – eats, drinks, camp chair, etc. (NB: there are no tables) Despite this being outdoors, social distancing will be the order of the day and hand sanitiser will be available. Your details will be recorded for Covid 19 contact tracing. You may choose to wear a mask but it is not essential.
Annual fees have been
suspended until meetings
resume. The fee will be $12.50,
a 50% discount on the usual fee
of $25, and refunds will be
made to those who have paid
earlier in the year.
Let’s keep our sense of humour.
This may be short notice, but some of you may wish to come.
As always, be prepared – expect change with little notice!
We look forward to resuming the socialisation that all our Probus members enjoy, particularly Jan’s well chosen speakers and outings. If our September meeting proceeds, you can look forward to Rod Preston as our Guest Speaker.
F3bruary
Our first Probian speaker will be: CAROL WATTS
Probus has always appreciated the
use of the Tri Care Community
Village facilities for our monthly
meetings. We hope that we will be
able to resume this wonderful
relationship in the near future.

Outing suggestion: Would members like to car pool to the Tweed Gallery, with lunch at the Riverview Hotel
in South Murwillumbah? Booking numbers required.
It‟s hard to think of positives at present, but I
guess this has to be one of them........................

The regular jazz nights at Condong Bowls Club have been cancelled, for the rest of 2020, with a view to again resuming in 2021.
With a slow return to ‘normal’, we can now use the Tech Centre, Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm,
and the Op Shop from 9am to 12.30pm. KEEP UO TO DATE WITH PBNC on Facebook.
Our POTTSVILLE BEACH MARKET has now been postponed again, until 4th
October.
The furniture shop is NOW OPEN on Thursdays and Fridays.
Tweed Shire Council requires visitors to all PBNC areas to be screened and have details recorded
for Covid-19 contact tracing purposes.
Our Probus community has benefited from phone calls and visits during this time of separation from other members. We hope you will join in any casual outings that are offered. Of course, we would always prefer to be holding our monthly meetings.
PBNC has continued to provide essential
services throughout the Coronavirus
pandemic.
Positions Vacant - the Co-ordinator and Secretary are searching for replacments. Please contact
Michael Ryan for more information, if you are interested in either of these important roles.
Our Probus Club of Hastings Point Tweed Coast will celebrate its
10th year in November. The committee has some ideas, and ask
our members if they have any suggestions to put forward?

Although Victoria is Australia’s standout in all
the data, putting it into perspective, so much of
the world is disastrously worse off.
A downward trend in this last month is encouraging.
Johns Hopkins experts in global public health, infectious disease, and emergency preparedness have been at the forefront of the international response to COVID-19. The website is a resource to help advance the understanding of the virus, inform the public, and brief policymakers in order to guide a
response, improve care, and save lives.
What a boon the border crossing has been for the Tweed/Gold Coast bubble. Our fear is always that it will close again............
